Try not to stress about it. I am sure it will all work out in the end. As long as you are not having it at the same venue and the color schemes are different you should be ok.

I would just tell her general ideas you have, and nothing that would make your wedding unique. I know it sounds mean, but even the power of suggestion could influence her subconsciously. If she is a good friend, and you feel comfortable enough, talk to her about your worries, and tell her that while you don't think she'd do anything purposely, you want each of your weddings to be unique.

I'm in a similar situation (but with a bit more drama) and I've stopped talking about the wedding to my friend.


sgf2 could tell you about allll my issues with my friend LOL. She's been helping me a lot with her and has been giving me great advice!

I think this happens to everyone! After I got engaged my BEST friend made he bf go ring shopping just about every weekend and that's all she wanted to talk about she ended up getting engaged 4 months after me ( on my bday weekend ) .. Well then the more annoying things started....she of course booked her wedding 3 months before mine and talked about using both my venue and color but after the color remark I kinda yelled (I wish I didn't) 'I can't believe ur taking my color too' and I think that caught her off guard and she ended up going a different route (yay). Well now as the weddings r getting closer and closer it's kind of better cause we r price checking each other and helping each other out and it is kinda nice that we go through together I mean we grew up together! So as annoying as it may be embrace it cause its a happy time for both!

You're not being mean. You aren't obligated to tell her or anyone else the details of your wedding. When she asks you a question about something you're doing just tell her you aren't sure or you aren't really telling anyone because you want everyone to be surprised the day of.

Oh my gosh I feel your pain! Little less drama on my end but just as annoying. A lot of my friends are engaged and i think to an extent we all kind steal ideas from each other...the only thing that rly made me mad was one friend in particular i could tell got weirded out b/c i was engaged b4 her so she went and got engaged one month after me (to someone she wasnt dating for very long)...& her wedding is now going to be b4 mine & she's having a summer wedding and stole my winter colors for her wedding..who does that!? lol Ughhh but whatever in the end 'she' is still gunna be your friend and u just have to try and turn your cheek the other way.

But for the record u have every right to be irritated and i'd try and keep the unique details to myself so she wouldn't find out and steal them 'unintensionally'!!

I don't think it's mean at all. I haven't told many details to anyone. They'll find out when they show up.

I would kindly respond by telling her you don't like to share details. Since you're not asking hopefully she will respect that.

Do you really think she'd take your ideas? I am sure she has her own vision of her wedding day. I wouldn't worry about it def not worth disrupting the friendship over :)

I don't think she asking about your wedding to steal ideas but to kinda get feedback from someone going through the same thing.

DON'T WORRY THOUGH!! Every bride cares about different things.

Your wedding will be beautiful and YOURS (not your friend's)
