I feel sad!

Re: I feel sad!

I totally know how you feel. I am getting to feel yuck about my job and I know that means time to move on, but with the wedding coming up its just not possible.

Remember though that lack of sleep may be causing you to feel bad too. Get some good sleep tonight and think about looking for a new job after the wedding.

I disagree with everyone...

I say don't tie yourself down to a job you are miserable at just because you have a wedding to pay off...

There will always be things in your life that require $$$ (House, children, etc...) IMO, do not get into the habit now of saying: 'I'll just wait until this happens to quit look for a new job...' Then you'll be retired before you know it and looking back on a miserable work life...

(I know this first hand, because I am in the same position and my mother gave me the above advice...So now I am looking for something. I am very nervous...But I just don't want to be tied into something I hate.)

Wanted to get my 2 cents in on this. BMD's Peanut, I respectfully disagree with you for this reason -- in this case it's not about the money. She has 5 months to go before the wedding. If she interviews, a potential new boss MIGHT work out a deal with her about her honeymoon in the negotiations, that's one thing. But, when you start a new job you have to be 110% committed to it and show you're a team player and all that other corporate BS. If you're nearing a wedding, you'll have to leave early for dress fittings, rehearsals, DJ meetings, videographer etc. And when you're just starting out, you can't change the first impressions of your peers. She will be looked at as a slacker by her peers and then when she gets back, no matter what she does there'll be nothing to change it. I have seen this first hand.

I'd stay until after the wedding. You have flexibility there to leave early and take time off. I'd take advantage and start when you get back.
