I found my dress!
After months of looking and trying tons of dresses on, I've finally found 'the one!' haha
It is a beautiful Amsale, silk taffeta gown with a ruched bodice and crystal brooch on the lower hip. Pics are in my album! I thought I'd add a few comments about the different places I went to to help other ladies who are still looking for their dream gown.
1) Saks Bridal-Short Hills, NJ
This is where I bought my gown, they don't have a huge selection of gowns, mostly 'high end' designers like Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier etc. I was quite surprised to find something there that I could actually afford(well, sort of afford..haha)! No sales tax is HUGE, and if you sign up for their credit card, you get 10% off AND if you buy during one of their gift card promotions, purchases of +$3000 gets you $450 back (which takes care of your alterations cost). Mimi, my sales consultant was wonderful. Overall, great experience here.
2) RK Bridal- I went here a bunch of times. Huge selection of gowns, but you must be patient looking through their enormous racks of dresses. Prices here are really great, service is so-so. I didn't have any bad experiences with the sales people, but it was definitely not 'pampering.' Found 2 dresses here that i was also seriously considering, both under $2K.
3) Kleinfelds- only went here once during one of their monthly sample sales. Experience here was ok, it was a beautiful store, but surprising there was not one single dress that I tried on that I really liked. Maybe there was another room of dresses that my sales lady didn't show me, but I was expecting a TON of choices and ended up not finding that many. Maybe I should have gone back a 2nd time to look... overall experience was ok.
4) Bijou Bridal (Paramus, NJ)- I loved this store. Had a decent selection of gowns (Paloma Blanca, Ramona Keveza, Sophia Tolli) serivce was wonderful and their store was beautiful. Never crowded with lots of brides. I found a beautiful alencon lace gown by Romona Keveza that was my runner up contender. If you're in NJ, I'd def check this place out.
HTH! and good luck to all you ladies still looking!
