I GOT THE FREAKING DRESS!

As many of you know, there has been much angst surrounding my dress search. I calculated that I tried on over 60 and went to nearly every shop in NYC where dresses are remotely affordable (and a few that were not just for the fun of it - who doesn't like to pretend that money is no object and say things like 'oh! $4500 - what a steal!)

ANYWAY!

Went to RK Bridal, had mom and sis with me, and put this puppy on (hate it on the model) AHHHHH!!!!!!!

It is oh-so-vintage, with the lace overlay, but funky modern with that corset in the back. The pic shows it in white, but I got the light gold with ivory overlay. It really looked beautiful and felt so comfortable. And its a maggie - I couldn't resist - the corset made the girls feel secure and look amazing!!

Very pretty. My dress also looks TERRIBLE on the model! For some reason the designers put these lacy gowns in white when they almost always look better in an off white or ivory. I'm sure it'll look gorgeous in the colors you described. And congrats on getting it from RK - they're SO awesome!!! They got my dress in 2 weeks early and gave me a price less than 1/3 of the price I got elsewhere.

OH, Bunny- I love that dress. Its perfect for the big day. I kinda wish I had tried it on at RKbridal when I was there but mine is ordered already!!! Did you try on the one I suggested? The other Maggie with the detachable halter straps? Just curious.

The dress is absolutely gorgeous!! I'm going to be wearing a Maggie also. Her dresses are absolutely stunning. Never go by the model or what it looks like on the hanger. Maggie's rock!

Like you I tried on at least 60 dresses. So much in fact I kept running into the same dresses at different stores. Once I put it on I knew. I almost cried. Unfortunately, I didn't have anyone with me on that shopping trip so no one else has seen me in it.

Funny, as soon as I left the salon and 'was thinking about it' I saw a sign for a church that had the name of the dress on the sign. I guess God, literally gave me a sign.

You are getting yours in January? Burton's told me it would be 8 months. Ordered it at the end of August.

I know! Thats what helped me make the decision - I would have dragged this out even longer if I was not faced with a 'deadline' of sorts. I never ended up trying the halter dress on - I became very obsessed with lace and kept my focus there. I can't wait to see your pics!

Yes, RK seems to be fast in their turnaround time for Dresses - I went to Macys and they told me it would take 10 months to get a maggie! nonsense. They stink anyway.

I can't wait for January!!
