I GOT THE FREAKING DRESS!

As many of you know, there has been much angst surrounding my dress search. I calculated that I tried on over 60 and went to nearly every shop in NYC where dresses are remotely affordable (and a few that were not just for the fun of it - who doesn't like to pretend that money is no object and say things like 'oh! $4500 - what a steal!)

ANYWAY!

Went to RK Bridal, had mom and sis with me, and put this puppy on (hate it on the model) AHHHHH!!!!!!!

It is oh-so-vintage, with the lace overlay, but funky modern with that corset in the back. The pic shows it in white, but I got the light gold with ivory overlay. It really looked beautiful and felt so comfortable. And its a maggie - I couldn't resist - the corset made the girls feel secure and look amazing!!

Never mind - It just came up - too quick for my own computer

Its gorgeous.

The dress I picked looked terrible on the model also but once I put it on, it looked so good. Wierd right? I would have thought my dress would have definitely looked better on a model than me.

Congrats on finding the gown! Isn't it a terrific feeling? I searched or a long time too and it was such a relief to find 'the one.' Beautiful choice! I love the lace!

Thank You Thank You! When it comes in in Jan I will take a pic - hate to show this version of it - the model ruins it. It looks much less 80's and much more vintage on.

Thanks Deb - a random woman came up to me in the store as I was deciding and said very genuinely 'You look like a goddess!' Probably the best thing you can say to an undecided bride. I turned to my mom and said 'Whip out the Amex woman!'

Happy - I got there at 4:00 and everyone looked wiped - they said it had been a mobscene! Try going on a (non holiday) weekday around 4:00 - was quiet for me last week at that time! But def try again - if you know what kind of dress you are looking for, it's a great place, but if you are just starting your search - so overwhelming!
