I'm guaranteed a position with the NYC public school system in September!!!

Wow. They must be desperate because I BOMBED the interview.

WAHOO!!

Now I just have to find a schoooool. Hmmmm. Any suggestions? I'll take good and bad!

And a really big thank you to everyone who FMed me and asked about how things went with my interview. It really meant a lot to me. You've all been so helpful with my questions. So, thanks.

Congrats! I work in a Queen's public school with a fellow LIWer. I love it! My school is great! If you need anything let me know. Oh and send your resumes out this week!!!! It is time to do some hiring!

Wow ladies! Thanks so much! I just got home!!

I am planning on teaching 6th grade (preferably math) - so if anyone knows of any openingsssssss...?

I did get a commitment letter, and as far as I know, I am not assigned to a particular burrough.

go to insideschools.org. they're an independent company that reviews NYC schools. some of the reviews are a little old, but they'll give you some small idea of what to expect. keep in mind that in NYC, it's the administration and staff that make a school, not necessarily the neighborhood. Def try schools in Queens...BAyside is nice, also I worked in Elmhust for 5 years...I loved it...I would in a middle school...

Good job with MAth...you should not have a problem....

Congrats!!! NYC schools work on a system of seniority. You can put down a school, but someone who has been waiting for a transfer for a long time, will get the opening. Best of luck!

A good friend of mine and fellow Fellow is in MS 137 in Ozone Park, he loves it. I'll ask if there are any openings if you'd like.
