So usually I'm out the office door at 6 on the dot to catch my train, but I was stuck in my boss' office until 6:40. I decide to take the subway to Penn b/c it's freakin freezing but I have no more $ on my MetroCard. I load my monthly ticket/metrocard into the machine and the screen says 'transaction failure. please take your receipt' and DOES NOT RETURN MY CARD!!!! I run to the ticket booth, the (nice) token guy makes a few calls, but said I would have to call the MTA later. He buzzed the door to let me in, and I get to Penn, hear my train announced and hop on the train. I'm totally aggravated by this point, mind you. I was trying to call DH on my cell phone and was so distracted that I didn't realize until we were moving that I was on the wrong train!!! UGH. Then the conductor comes around and I tell him my story, but he was a total D**K about it and started arguing with me. He finallly moved on and I called my sister crying, b/c I couldn't get in touch with DH, I was on the wrong train, I lost my monthly ticket, etc.
Anyway, to make a short story long, I was able to chain at Jamaica to the right train and got home late, but safely.
I hate commuting!!! I want a job on L.I. so bad!
Thanks for listening.

Re: I had the worst time getting home last night
I'm sorry that that happened to you. Conductors can be real jerks sometimes. I had a jerky one today too.
You might be better off keeping your monthly and metrocard tickets as 2 separate things. I do that because I'm scared of what happened to you with the machine!
