tipping everyone. I don't mind tipping waiters and waitresses and such at restaurants but it seems like we are paying all this money and tipping out the wazoo
I feel you on that one. I have problem tipping someone when they deserve it I just hate having to tip someone because they expect one.
if they are performing a service, i think they should be tipped... it ***** that you pretty much need an extra k to tip everyone...

I'm trying to figure out if the service charge for the RH is added in before the tax. If that is the case I don't think I should have to pay tax on a gratuity and that just makes my bill go up more!!! And then on top of that they expect you to shell out more for the maitre'd and the bridal attendant. I think it should all be included in the service charge and they should take that extra $350 in tax they are charging for the service fee and give it to them.

this is what i said last night. i was screaming. because how can they tax a tip? does anyone know about this?? i am about to call my accountant and find out.
It's just so overwhelming because when it comes down to it, you have to budget $1000+ just for tips and this is something almost everyone forgets to budget, and it all adds up to A LOT of money!

I would not tip the owner of a business. We are tipping photo, & photo assistant, DJ, Bartenders, service staff. We are also tipping them as soon as we see them. Yes they are getting a day's pay,we want to be sure they will go the extra mile for us. It all comes down to $$$$. If you greese the wheel it will turn easier. It's just part of the plan. If you give that bartender a $20.00 tip when you order your first drink.....he will remember, and you will end up with better service. A close friend of my Dad was a wedding photographer ( now retired) His photographers were all freelance people where their tips were part of their pay. Yes it is a pain in the a$$, yes it is taxing our budgets, but don't we all want the best service we can possability get? After all..... the business of weddings is a service business.
