I HATE MACY'S

FH & I went today to try to 'exchange' pots.

Macy's duplicated it on our registry, so we got 2 'not so great' sets of Tools of the Trade 12 piece sets. We were going to bring them both back & get something nicer, at the advice of his 2 aunts who bought them for us.

WELL...I almost kept them both just to get out of that &*#@! store!

We had to wait about 10 minutes because the register was packed & ONE person working. Then, only 1 had a receipt, but we told her they were bought off my registry. She couldn't find my registry, then couldn't find the pots on them. She calls a coworker, who disappears for 10 minutes to go get my listing, which showed that YES, they were both bought of my registry, at the same store, minutes apart!!! NOW, they can't decide on how to let me exchange them...gift card, which wouldn't go through 3 times, or merchandise credit, which finally did. We got a great set of Analon to replace them, but the whole process took 45 minutes to an HOUR!!!

The moral of my story....

REGISTER AT FORTUNOFF!!!!!!!!

Sorry... they should make things alot easier for us brides. We have enough to worry about.

Thanks for the tip. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I've heard such bad things about Macy's. Thanks for letting us know.

Aww sorry to hear that.
Dont fret,,it could be a one in a million chance it happens again

But they really should have beter customer service....after all we are $$$ to their store.

I have to forward this to FH!

He has deemed Macy's as 'the worst store ever' b/c of all the stupid **** that takes place there!

I know what you mean, that's why I wasn't too sure about registering there but since we have a lot of OOT guest, I thought they would be easier to get too

The worst thing is, I have other things I was thinking about returning...but forget it!!!!

I'll either keep them...or regift after an appropriate amount of time!!!

I went to Fortunoff also today & ordered my dishes...and they were extremely helpful. Honestly, Macy's lost my business. I'd rather drive to Long Island or New Jersey from Staten Island than go back.

i hate macy's too. registering there was the biggest pain in the a$$. if i had to do it again i would never register there.

Oh I hate them too!!! I told my friend NOT to register their but of course she didn't listen and now she wishes she did!! We had to go there FOUR TIMES because they messed up her entire registry! The first time she registered, they entered her name twice, so when you pulled up the registry you saw it twice and that was a problem b/c gifts would have definately been duplicated and they said that she needed to come back to the store in order to correct the problem - then things certain things she registered for and were on the list before we left the store and after checking it, of course were inputted incorrectly and the wrong styles were on the registry. The third time we had to leave because there system was down and the person could not accomodate us at all - even when we asked her if we can write down the skews on paper manually ourselves and then they input them into computer! So we had to go there a fourth time and finally it is correct - after $32 dollars spent to go over the Verrazano bridge from Brooklyn! Maybe some of you girls had no problems with Macy's, don't get me wrong I still shop there and everything but the one thing I stay away from is there regstry! I have always had a problem when I had to buy a gift off a registry from there. Hopefully this isn't the problem in every Macy's throughout the tri-state area but it definately is where I have gone.

I thought I was the only person who thought this. We've had so many problems with them just setting up the registry. I thought FI was going to pummel one of the salesgirls there last time. She was totally unhelpful and downright condescending.

I've had problems with them too-just putting stuff on my registry was a big project, so I cancelled it.

I have always hated macy's they have the worst return policies of any of the department stores - I used to laugh when people would say to me Oh bloomies is so expensive I shop at macy's - I would laugh because I would occasionally go to macy's if bloomies or L&T didn't have my size and it was ALWAYS $5-20 MORE for the identical item

I second your hate!! That store is terrible!
