I woke up this morning and just laid in bed crying... I really dont like my dress... like I love the material, i love the price, i like the skirt.. but I hate the top. I hate that its not a dropped waist (although they tell me it is). everyone says the dress was made for me.. and I kinda agree, but its not what I wanted!
i wanted something more like this or this top with my bottom
I can't change the top without it looking really dumb.. the only thing I can do is add some 'bling' to the pick ups... I haven't even gone to see my dress since I put the deposit down..
I just don't know what to do.. my father offered to pay for my dress, because I paid so little for it, and now I don't have the money for something more expensive. he's paying UNDER $1,000 for a silk dress.. like I KNOW its a GREAT deal... but I just dont know what to do.
I know I'm just going to **** it up and wear that one... I just need to vent this out to people who might understand. Everytime I tell FH he tells me that I second guess everything and to just get over it.. my mother finally told me to choose something else, but she loves the dress.. why do I do this to myself!

I just went through the same thing - I felt like I chose the wrong dress. For so long I kept trying to convince myself to just wear it. But as I posted a week ago - I couldnt do it anymore. I bought a new one. Im selling my old one.
You have to be 100% happy. What are you looking for?

Re: i hate my dress
Honestly, if you're unsure about it I would first go back and try it on to make sure you don't like it, and then look for another dress - you still have time if you start looking ASAP.
And as far as a dropped waist - believe me I know how frustrating that is - this was the one thing that I requested and a lot of bridal shops don't have many dresses with the drop that I wanted, so they show you a dress with a lower waist and tell you it's dropped - even though I knew it wasn't. It was SO frustrating.

Re: i hate my dress
go back to the store and try it on and then see how you feel about it - if you are unsure try on some other dresses and then make up your mind.
sorry you feel this way, but you should love your dress, you don't want to feel blah on your wedding day.

What if they added some whatever you want on the top?? More crystals or whatever ?

is the dress in yet? If not, tell your bridal shop and they may just use your deposit for another dress you like.

it was a sample, they stopped carrying that designer and I had tried it on about a year before I bought it. So far we only put $100 down.. so its not a big deal if we walk away from it... but I know I can't afford anything else... I mean, my dress is 100% silk and is one of a kind... which I love, and it feels great, I just don't like the way I look in it.

I suggested that the last time we were there.. there's really nothing they can add.
thanks girls... I'm going to have to visit it and see if there's any 'spark'

Re: i hate my dress
If its the dress in your album, I think that your dress is beautiful! I cannot believe that its costing you only 1k. You really do like like a princess. I also see that it has some beautiful detail on the very top and at the waist, so is not exactly plain. However, I know that me telling you how much I love it is not going to make you fall in love with it. So def. go back and try it on, model it and if you are still not happy, then forget about how good of a deal it is and that its silk, get another one. You can def. find something great for 1k. You shouldnt have to convince yourself to love your dress. Good Luck!

lol, its UNDER $1000... hell its under $800... its originally $3400... thats what the big thing is.. is hte money.
I don't know, maybe once I go through fittings and stuff then I'll feel better about it.. its just I really like a little more decal on the bodice, and this one (imo) is plain.

Can you go look for another dress and see if you find something in your budget you like and then try and sell your dress.

Re: i hate my dress
I totally understand how you feel.....go back to the store and pick out a pair of shoes and jewelry to try on with it and a veil and take as much time as you need to walk around in it and just feel the dress. Also let them know your not happy with it and talk about adding bling etc.. They should want you to be happy and try to help with ideas. I'm getting married a week from tomorrow (small remarriage) and had bought a Lazaro bridesmaid dress....very pretty but, just wasn't feeling it...... went to DB last night to try a gown I bought it....fell in love and was very lucky it was affordable.....hope all works out.....keep us posted. :)

Re: i hate my dress
Just from a past bride who HATED her dress. . my dress was simple and I started thinking boring ugh etc. . and from when I tried it on to when it was exactly fitted to me and then hair, MU accessories was amazing and I ended up loving it more than I can say. . but literally I was crying I hated it so much. . i'll have to post an after pic. . right now I just have the before and it looks so awful. . . but I might say hang in there - I think it will look great!

I agree, you should go and try i again and see how you feel. I think the dress looks beautiful on you. If the staff in the store say they can't change tihngs, you can find a private taylor who can. Additng swarovski chrystals is pretty easy theses days, and adds the extra bling. I bought a dress with intentions of completely redoing it... and thankfully my amazing taylor did it... she is still working on it.

Sorry to crash ... but see a seamstress. Youd be amazed at what they can do! REALLY! Maybe they can put in a lace overlay or put in some handdone work for rather inexpensive.
