Quick background: My 11 BM's are wearing a lovely Jim Hjelm black dress, black shoes and cream colored pearls of their choice. Very cute since some of them are doing larger pearls and one of my stylish sisters is wearing long pearls.
Here is why I am mad: My other sister is REFUSING to wear cream colored pearls. According to her, they don't look good on her. She wants to wear -- get this -- BLACK PEARLS. You must be f-ing kidding me. I told her to go to ANYWHERE and get a cheap string of cream pearls. She said she couldn't do that because she is allergic to metal and the clasp might cause her to have a rash. I told her to wrap the clasp in medical tape and WA-LA solution to her problem. She said NO! Can you believe that?!?!
So I had to do the unthinkable and call my parents and tell them that she is just being awful and if she won't wear what everyone else is, she can't be in the wedding. Well my mom thinks I am over-reacting and my dad thinks my sister is being a baby so now my parents are fighting too.
AM I BEING A BRIDEZILLA???

Well, to kick your own sister out of your wedding party over a pair of pearls is a little ridiculous IMO... but your sister is being unreasonable. Why don't you tell her that she can take the pearls off for the reception but you'd really appreciate it if she wears them for the ceremony and pictures... that seems like a fair comprimise...

maybe she's jealous? being difficult on purpose? can your other sister talk to her?
It's your wedding, why can't she just go along with it?

No, you are not being a briezilla. She is being ridiculous and difficult in trying to wear the black pearls-- which I guess she won't be allergic to She should just suck it up for one day and wear the damn pearls!!

NO. I would be pissed. I am doing the same color scheme and if someone wanted to wear black pearls I wouldnt be happy. I personally would prefer no necklace over that. Sorry she is being so difficult.

IMO I think the black pearls would look pretty even though it's only on one person...I look at it as she's your sister and can be a little different...it's a pretty minor detail

I think telling her not to be in your wedding is a little bridezilla-ish but she's being unreasonable and it might be the only way to get through to her. If she'll wear black pearls but not cream, that's silly. Buy her a strand of cream pearls for xmas.
If she really is allergic to the metal, there is a simple solution. If you go to the bead shops in the city, you can buy strings of pearls (without clasps) for pretty cheap. I'm talking < $15. People shop there for jewelry supplies and you can get a strand of pearls already on piece of sewing thread and just knot the edges closed on her the day of the wedding, you dont even need to use a clasp. after the wedding is over, just cut the string and the pearls will come off. You could also restring it on that stretchy fishing wire and do the same, although you might want some sort of clasp for that.
I think your sister is being really disrespectful -- this is your day, and she should wear what you want even if its horrendously ugly. what you picked sounds beautiful so it shouldnt be an issue.

You are in the right. It's your wedding day. My older sister refused to wear the BM dress because it is black and pink but now she likes the colors. So don't worry i'm sure that she will do what you want. HTH.

Is it because she doesn't want to spend the money on pearls she will only wear once or because she just insists on wearing black?
I'd buy her the pearls if that was the issue, or see if she can borrow a nicer set from someone that won't 'irritate her skin'
I wouldn't kick her out. . . but I don't think you are out of line getting upset. Try and talk it out. . .

She just wants to wear 'her' pearls which just happen to be black. I told her the dress code doesn't say wear 'your' pearls, it says wear 'cream' colored pearls.
She is just the type to try and spark family drama. She's an attention whore and is having a really hard time with the wedding pulling from everyone giving her 100% attemtion.

I don't know, it just annoys me when some people can't do simple tasks for someone else's wedding just to make them happy...I mean come on, it's only one day, just suck it up!
