I hate people

seriously sick of the texts 'oh im not bringing a date anymore'
we are at the point that we have 6 people at some tables

our overall # stays the same because a few people added on after RSVP and we figured this may happen so we didnt put them at tables. who knows if they will even show up

so, i am trying to split a table but cant yet because my sister is being selfish and saying she cant tell me if her date is coming until tonight. it's f-ing 4 days away. by then, 3.5!!!

i'm not arguing it with her yet til i find out if the hall is ok with a few changes....

That sucks. At least people are telling you before than at the cocktail hour like one of my husband's co-worker did.
I hope you told your hall a few less people 3-4. Once people are paid for, halls will not refund.

We have to give our final headcount wednesday and FHs uncle is still not sure if he wants to come or not yet, he's a bit estranged from the family and doesn't want to be a distraction. Oy.

good idea- no room at cardbox (it's like a pillar) but i like the guestbook/ escort table idea-- ours is in the hospitality room not the lobby.

I hear you. In the past week my friend found out her boyfriend can't come and FHs coworker broke up with her bf. We missed our minimum by 3 so my venue threw in baby lamb chops at cocktail hour.

If you paid and people don't show up they will send food home with you. My dad enjoyed one of each entree while we were on our honeymoon thanks to the no shows.

Sorry to hear that. Seriously, people just don't get it... I had several guests who didn't show up but I forgot to ask WM to pack the extra meals. I didn't eat at all because I was having too much fun and all I was craving for afterwards were hot dogs. Remember to get your extra meals for a late night snack!

I'm with you. I'm having FH chase down some of his friends (RSVPS were due last Friday) and one of them actually had the nerve to say they were coming with a guest...Uhm what? You weren't invited with a guest AND we had to hunt you down to get your response...I hate people lol.

like... what? pay? first of all if you want to give me a gift, whatever amount it's appreciated. the POINT is that I dont want empty tables!!!!! we ended up splitting a table and we should be all good.

my final count was 9/9 ish
my sister said YESTERDAY that she couldnt tell me til last night. we ended up saying sorry there's no seat for your maybe date. (cause we had to break up that table and filled their table)
