I Hate School Districts

So I get called at 10 am TODAY for an interview TOMORROW!!!! What's up with that? Today is a vacation day for most districts and they're making calls today for tomorrow??? I guess that makes my odds better if some people are away and coming hoome from vacation, but I would be pissed if I had a message waiting for me when I got home tonight!!
I'm sick of districts treating candidates like cattle - we have schedules, jobs, and lives too! I actually called up the director of my dept to check times with her before I called back the district to confirm the interview. It's also a huge district and I feel like there is a lot to study today - which is not what I had planned!!

Thank G-d my interview suit isn't in the cleaners!!

I did have a haircut, manicure and pedicure planned for today though - maybe it's fate!!

I got fed up with the whole job search process too- it was so frustrating and in the end it was a factor (however small) for me choosing to stay in NYC. Luckily I've been happy overall.

i dont know if this will make you feel better or not... but school district administrators don't have off today...only the teachers do...and i personally think this will up your probability at a position, it might have been a last minute opening, or some reason why they need to get applicants interviewed asap... you never know with school district politics!

I definitely understand what you're saying - in this case though - I knew there was going to be an opening - so it's kind of annoying to be called today for tomorrow - they are planning on hiring someone - that's how come in just a little annoying - but hey - i'm not going to turn down an interview!

good luck! When I interviewed for my position they expected me to drop everything and come in THAT afternoon- like an hour after they called. I did and got it!
