I hate stupid cops (TINT) just got pulled over by dumb & dumber just cuz I have a yellow car!!

IN MY DRIVE WAY

I have a spots car - yes
It is oh-my-god blinding bright yellow -yes
I have tint - yes

So Im coming home and as I make a right to go one block I see a white car oncoming.

I make the right then make the first left (my street) I always check my rearview in case someone doesnt see me making the turn and I see the white car making a three point u-turn.

I make the left and pull into my dirve (back in actually) As I do I see the white car making the left onto my street - Im on the corner

So I boogie to get out of the way when i hear the siren/horn sound. I hit the brakes and look forward to see the white car now has lights running in it's grill.

OK, I stop and this dumb wench walks up to my window and says the usual license, insurance regi .. whatever.

BULL, I already have one stupid ticket for innocently following a cop's instructions I'll be D*mned if Im gonna get another so I ask why (as she's now looking at my LEGAL police associate badge i have on my window (yeah, its legal a friend's father died in service)

So i give her the stuff when her partner guy comes out to lecture me I call my hubby and put him on speaker. I explain this is how we BOUGHT the car they say 'yeah, sure'

UHMM EXCUSE ME?

I have window stickers to PROVE it and its barely a year into our possession.

They have a little machine and prove my tint is too dark. So what?

He says 'Well everyone knows about tint, even as a kid' A kid??? excuse me ?? im 30 and you're MAYBE 35 .. are you JOKING

Well Im from Texas so I must have missed the NY lessons on tint jobs for cars

She says she's not happy with ANY of the tint jobs on my street. but point blank said get this

'I could pull anyone of these vehicles over, but I wouldnt, I would only pull over yours, and I'll pull it over again'



I said well Im not taking off the tint anytime soon its just not possible or reasonable.

they want me to remove the tint from both front windows AND the back window in ONE WEEK!!

I explained that's not possible. She said it better be.

How can I argue? Im in my own f-ing drive way!

And you know the beauty of this is in regards to FMs.... i have the balls to face the music.

I don't need to p*ssy out and block people's FMs cause they know that I am right. (especially after that person was the one to INITIATE the FM in the first place).

If you're buying a car from a NY dealer, shouldn't the dealer have the responsibility for making sure the car complies with NYS regulations? I think the dealer should have some responsibility. Are dealers regulated at all? Can they be fined for selling cars that have illegal tints? I think in situations similar to sr081906 where the dealership inspected the car and said it was ok, drivers should at least be given the opportunity to correct the problem. If you get a warning and don't fix the problem, IMO you deserve to pay the tickets you get.

You can usually plead not guilty to the ticket... remove the tints... bring in a receipt that you had the tints removed... and they throw the ticket out.

This is STILL going? Geez.

I guess I'll throw in my 2 cents and see where it goes.....

If you get pulled over with tints and honestly didn't know, you should get a warning......do whatever you need to do to get them removed........if you don't, all subsequent tickets are payable by you without ANY complaining.......

it should be like when you head lite is out

you get it fixed- and then you go to the police station- show them and they rip up the ticket

you should get a warning- and honestly if I bought a car from a dealership I would assume it was all legit
