i hate to say but........

i am a little nervous about my family throwing me a shower!!!!!
i don't even like showers they are kind of lame... is that bad?????????

fh and i laugh about it because 'members' of my family have no taste.

mine turned out ok..but i was nervous also..thinking that they werent going to do things like i would have if i had to throw myself..or someone else a shower

my mom and sister ( MOH) paid for everything..they had it at my mos house..

since im an out of state bride..there werent that many people there..but every woman practically was invited and all sent gifts..that was nice..but i had a few things that i ABSOLUTLY did not want

like the cake to say 'showers of happiness' i dont know why..just too cliche i think..but it was things like that i was freaking out over thinking that i was the only one who could handle it

fh family does not like to travel outside a 10 mile radius!!! so annoying

i guess i should not care and just be positive.
but i know what i am going to do for my sister!

My MOH is 1500 miles away & 8months pregnet... So I talked to FH & we decided we would throw our own shower & it would be in the evening w/ guys & girls... very different- Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter Theme...

Well my mom heard about this, she is uber traditional and freaked out! She & my Nana are planing & paying for my women only shower and I'm not allowed to know anything except the guest list, and where we registered..

I know this is going to sound so ungreatful but I really wanted it the way we planned, but I guess that can be the theme for our warming party in Spring '09

I just found out when and where mine is last night. I made my MOH spill the beans because I hate surprises. I'm a little nervous about it too because I don't like people making a huge fuss over me (I'm used to being a wallflower). My mom just keeps reminding me that it will be much worse on my wedding day!

I hate being a shy bride. At least my FH is an attention whore.

I'd prefer a co-ed shower too and I suggested it to my mother. I got the same reaction. Oh well!

I guess, I 'm gonna have to let my mom go with it. She knows how I love themes so, hoefully...

my Sweet 16 was a winter wonderland

My big 20's b-day was a Roaring 20's theme w/ costumes encourged and worn...

I hope the shower will be somthing different than a traditional shower but it will be what ever my Mom & Nana decide

I plan to begin planning Debi's tomorrow. But she knows about it and has ideas for me, and since I want to make the Bride happy, I'll incorporate SOME of those ideas!!! Mary MOB

Tricia, I will be walking a fine line. Debi has modern tastes, but also appreciates 'old-fashioned'. What would you Brides think of my providing a decorated Victorian hat, in good taste of course, for each of the guests? It's going to be at a tea place, which Debi wanted. I have a beautiful hat in mind for Debi!! Fell in love with it!! It actually looks like an old fashioned wedding hat.

Bonwitt Inn in Commack in May. I'm not sure of the actual date. I couldn't pry that out of her, but I'll work on it.

lmao... i feel the same way about my shower. i told my mom, FMIL and MOH that I'm going to plan the entire thing and they can fill in the date and time. I already know I want it at my FMIL's house. lol

lol. i think they are sort of lame as well.. that's why i insisted on being involved.. i even decided the theme..(it's a yoga bridal shower) i let everyone.. and i mean ERRABODY know that the first person who tried to stick a paperplate hat on my head with ribbons attached was gonna get cut.
