but I just asked my dad if he cares that the invite doesnt say his name(he is paying for almost all of my reception hall) FH parents gave 10k(which is great ) =) so if I put my parents names its only right to put theirs as well not that they would care but I would just feel weird if I didnt soooooooo my dad says hell yeah I want my name he's nuts and I feel so bad not to have it so heres the dilemma this is my invite how the heck do I word this ????? Re: I have a dilemma Help please

My invitation is worded this way, and my parents are paying for the whole reception:

Mr. & Mrs. Nicholas P___________
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Dana Nicole
to Timothy Paul
son of Mr. & Mrs. Paul _____________

Hope that helps!

I'm not sure if I 100% get your question....but, if he actually wants his name printed on the invite, why don't u just do the standard invite wording.

Brides parents (mr and mrs John smith) along with grooms parents (mr and mrs Jon doe) invite you to celebrate blah blah blah

That's how we did it bc our parents are splitting it, so it's both parents that are inviting.

WOW.. yes you should absolutely have both sets of parents names on it!!

I did mine like this:

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Brides Name
to
Grooms Name
son of,
Mr. & Mrs. John Smith

Mine was worded:

Because you have shared in their lives
by your friendship and in love

Ms. Theresa Hart (my mom - dad not in pic)
Request the honor of your presence at the marriage of her (his) daughter
Shannon Maureeen
To
Steven Eric

Son of Mr. & MRs. Hamerman

this way... it is impliedddd my mom paid (which she payed for hall) but their names are still on (they gave 3k). no ones feelings are hurt.

P.S> I know you said that FH's parents probably wouldnt care if their names on on the invite... but I am pretty sure they would care wether they expressed it to you or not... it's just the right thing to do. Right now yours is implying that neither parents have helped with finance.

Re: I have a dilemma Help please

this is the wording we're using

FH and I are paying for like 80% of the wedding, my parents are paying for the rest. FH's parents are paying for the RD and paid for 1/2 of the eparty

I'm in the same situation, mine will say..

Ms. Bride
and
Mr. Groom
together with their parents
Mr. and Mrs. Bride's parents &
Mr. and Mrs. Grooms parents

We did this one even though the amounts on the parent's sides aren't equal!! This way it makes everyone happy and included...
