I've been on the pill for a couple of years now. FH and I had sex last weekend and I started spotting and its been getting heavier. I've spotted once before after sex but never this much. I have an appt with my gyno on the 28th, but I'm a little worried as to why. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know why?

Update - 2/29
So I finally went to the Gyno yesterday and initially everything looked fine. She said I dont look pregnant but took my urine to put my mind at ease. I told her that I have been bleeding after sex for a while and that the last time it continued for a while. She said that it may be the pill since I've been on it for a while and she may need to change my medication.
But then she did the exam. She touched the cervix, and I bled. So now I have to go for a pelvic sonogram. I'm a little worried. Stupid me starts researching last night and one of the first things i see is cancer. I have to call today to schedule the sonogram.
Fh tried to make light of it saying I'm broken First my heart problems back in November, than I had surgery in December for another problem, and now this. Go figure that the dr would be concerned about something yesterday.

LEEP is when they take a small top layer off your cervix. . .its usually when you have abnormal cells that they are worried about.

i was first on the pill and then changed to the patch i actually stopped taking birth control all together b/c my brothers girlfriend got blood clots in her legs up to her lungs from birth control pills so i freaked and stopped taking then. but i never had the problem your having. hope everything is ok.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Try not to drive yourself crazy, stop the internet researching, even from us! Most (all?) of us are not doctors. There is nothing you can do, relax, have some wine, and we will all pray for you that the sonogram reveals that it is something really minor. I'm sure it is! Good luck!
