I have a pain in the center of my chest

I have a pain in the center of my chest

It's right in between my bb's but more to the left. It feels sore, almost like my rib cage is sore or inflamed. If I yawn or take a deep breath, there is a sharp pain. Anyone ever have this? Maybe it's stress

It's probably nothing, but I would definitely get that checked out.

yes i get it everyone once in a while...for no apparent reason...
It usually goes away

Did you eat something unusual for you? It could be acid, believe it or not.

Take an antacid, see if that does anything. (Tums, Pepcid, Rolaids, etc.)

I get that from stress occasionally, along with shortness of breath.

Take an antacid, see if that does anything. (Tums, Pepcid, Rolaids, etc.)

That and stress but call the doctor if you are very uncomfortable

Wow, I could have written this! I am getting the same thing, its like the inside of my chest is just reallllly sore all the time, it feels more muscular than sharp pains really, and it bugs me a bit more when I breathe in but there is no set 'pattern' really. I am not sure what it is either ... unfortunately with chest pains it can be SO many variety things so its hard to figure it out on your own

I'm so bad, I've been having this on and off for 2 weeks now and haven't done a thing about it... but now its really bugging me out because I simply don't what the trigger is.. I thought it was bad acid reflux/heartburn , since I've had that in the past .. or maybe its just stress (I have been highly stressed lately), but now I think it might be something else ..

I'm finally going to the doctor to see about it, since even though I kept wishing it would go away it hasn't worked

Sounds really weird, but I am 100% certain it is gas pain..happens to me a lot..and thats what the doc told me! Gas pain can lodge anywhere, especially between the breastbone...take an antacid..i would recommend tagamet or even something like mylantaa...you should feel better soon!

Believe it or not, add my name to this list. I actually went to 2 doctors about extremely similar pains to what both of you are describing. They prescribed antacids but otherwise could not help me any further considering all tests were normal.

Do you ever try stretching or deep breathing? This may help. Have you been under a lot of stress lately? Immense stress can often times cause you to 'internalize' a lot of the pain thus resulting in pschyosomatic symtoms. A combination of poor diet and stress can worsen the symtoms. We are all getting old, aint we. Believe it or not, exercise may help as well (although I have been lacking in this area), it helps relieve a lot of the tension.

It probably is best that you see a doctor however, you will have peace of mind a proper diagnosis can be made.

It sounds like a gas pain to me. I get them once in awhile. I was getting them so bad i thought i was having a heart attack.

That is exactly what I had been feeling!!! Doctor said it was acid, but the antacids didn't cure it. It is very possible that its an acid problem.

YES! It really does feel inflamed very deep in my chest, a burning feeling also.. I really don't get sharp pain much, its just more of the burning sensation

but since mine has been on/off for a few weeks now, sometimes the pain travels all the way across my chest and it does seem concentrated on my left side, so of course i really start to freak out thinking the worst... but then it completely goes away so I don't know what to think!

I've been trying to determine if its really something I'm eating or heartburn type symptoms but I've really been trying to watch my diet, so I just don't konw -- and for me Zantac or Pepcid and that sort of stuff isn't really helping unfortunately.. so I'm not sure anymore .. hence I forced myself to make the doc's appointment!!

Don't wait as long as I did to feel better!

Make sure you get to the doctor.

Unfortunately, I had to make a diagnosis on my own because the doctors were baffled. I still don't know whats wrong with me. Unfortunately, often times our body feels pain that can't be understood.

Believe it or not, you could be making yourself sick if you are stressed. I have seen your posts about your unhappiness at work. Take care of yourself. You could be very tense. But it could also be the acid , stress makes acid problems worse as well.
