NWR is always going to be a split debate. I just hate to see it cluttered with that stuff. But it is my opinion. Doesn't mean no one should post them. It is just my feeling.

And also....The people on NWR are great!!!! Take a pop in there. You'll love it!!!!!

But they are not 05ers. That is one of the many reasons we all like being here

I think board evolves as brides join (look at our list over 200 !!- thats ALOT of voices) & takes it to a different level - still weddings - just mixed conversations. Is that so wrong?

This is another reason why this board has surpssed the 04 one so quickly

We old timers (lol) really make the new ones feel welcome. Questions, vents etc are always welcome

While this is on the table I want to say that its not just the NWR posts. Posting excessively just to get your post count up also does not belong on this board that some of us worked very hard to obtain throughout 2003.

Posting insightful comments and suggestions to other brides is the way to do that. Although I fail to see what the # of posts signifies anyway.

Since much of your post seems to resonate with me, I thought I would take the time to reply. For one, I will be eternally grateful to you for all of your efforts to create this board. -->QOTD is entirely my fault. I started doing them because they seemed really popular and a way to get to know each other beyond the dresses and the reception halls. I tried to keep it organized and neat, in a single daily post. I though it showed other sides of each of us and allowed us to bring in new girls to the foray. I apologize if there was a consensus who did not care for this.

IMO, and of course, I expect others to have their thoughts, those friendships that are created are not a negative, rather something to be encouraged as they encourage such camraderie. I mean, it is amazing, I literally go one night from not knowing someone to having a new chat buddy the next day. All are always welcome and when asked, to my recollection, we have always endeavored to explain what is going on and be welcoming.

Thanks!!! I have NOTHING against you at all! I just wanted to let it all out. I understand EVERYTHING you are saying. My thread does not mean you stop the jokes or the QOTD's...it is just my opinion. Which I wanted other's to know and speak up if they needed to. Nothing personal at all!!!

I also enjoy the question of the day. I like getting to know everyone a little better. I love this board. I know it makes my work day much more fun!

Finally, someone said something.. I have been lurking alot lately but only responding here and there.. I didn't like the change in 'tone' for lack of a better word, this board was taking.. I agree with many of Flaca's points, although I do like the QOFD stuff, sometimes it breaks the up the wedding stuff.

I just feel as a whole we should not let a few cranky pants take over our beloved board.

We should be here to support one another not embarrass, or berate each other. Alot of the stuff said recently was very mean and uncalled for.

okay, that's my two cents..

ETA: I don't agree there are cliques, are there some girls who are closer than others, yes of course, some of us have created personal friendships off of LIW, if that seems cliqueish, it's been taken the wrong way.. JMO

i agree to a point - i like the QOTD as i KNOW most of the 05 brides & not many on the NWR boards. When i replied to the NWR board - i felt like an outsider.

We all talk wedding - which is why we are here
bu i think the quotes are diversions that can be refreshing

I am fairly new to the boards but I love the 05 board the best I feel like I am intruding on the other boards. You guys have made me feel welcome. I can't wait to get home from work to sign on to LIW and chat with you. I personally love the wedding talk and QOTD and other chat it breaks up the stress of wedding issues. I look to you ladies for help with the wedding and other issues. I am an only child and you guys have taken the place of the sisters that I never had. Thanks

I like the QOTD's and some NWR stuff. Today had a bit extreme amount of NWR topics and I wonder if that pushed Flaca to the edge to come out and address it.

We do have a common bond here on the 05 board and I love that.

Far as cliques go, I feel like I am on here 24/7 but I miss alot of the conversations. No idea how the watermelon got started but I never felt that I couldnt 'add on' to a watermelon topic.

Maybe I am looking through rose colored glasses but I like the 05 board the way it is pretty much. I am sure I dont have to mention the fact that drama and fighting and name calling can be left off LIW altogether. Basically I dont want to secong guess myself when I start a topic...

I am new here but I have enjoyed my experience so far and find the vast majority of people to be so nice and helpful. I like NWR posts. I do sometimes feel like I am not a part of the cliques but overall, this is a great place to get advice and see what others are doing. So a big thank you for helping make this process much more fun for me

the watermelon was born when Nee was going for 1000 post & interjected that she liked that line from Dirty Dancing. Trust me it took a while for all of us to get it. Then we just ran with it from that point.

This is where I feel a little off though. I've been on here for quite a while now and to be honest, this is the board I feel least welcome. Maybe it's just me but I do feel as though there are numerous cliques. I tend to stay on NWR and BHB for these reasons.

Ok, I read through everyone's opinions and I agree that we need to cut down on the NWR stuff but I do really like the QOTD- One question for the day or even a couple NWR here and there. I have noticed lately it has gotten excessive but I don't know how you control for that sort of thing. I think it just has to be an awareness on all of our parts.

As for the drama, I think I have been vocal about the fact that I get enough of that in middle school. I do not mind people speaking their mind and having different opinions as long as there are ground rules- honesty, forthrightness and common courtsey. To me this is not drama- drama is talking trash and general mayhem to attract attention.

I type fast so I tend to type long-Sorry. I really enjoy coming on here and everyone on here. I don't like the fighting or namecalling.
I do miss a lot at work but I don't feel left out or slighted by cliques and try hard to include all newcomers I see I think that is the best we all can do!
