Just went to a wedding in Hilton Head Island SC for Memorial Day weekend. Very nice and elegant.. Everything was perfect!!!! What was also good was that it doubled as a quick vacation for us w/out the kids!!!

went to a wedding at The Swan Club

the cocktail hour was awesome! so much food.
dinner was delicious as well..

the grounds were gorgeous...although you could see construction equipment across the water..but that wasn't the halls fault..

but i did think the bathroom was a little small

but other than that the place was AWESOME!!

Re: I have been to a wedding at in 06...........

i've been to 4 weddings in 06 - one did not have a reception.

chateau briand - loooved the ch!!!! there were several other weddings going on at the same time, so it felt crowded and sorta nutty in the common spaces. the dj was fantastic. dinner was good.

surf club - weather was terrible that day, but the view was so nice. CH was okay - it felt kinda cramped on the balcony where ch was located- maybe b/c there were over 200 people. the martini bar at the ch was cool. RECEPTION - Food was not my fave at reception.

marina del rey - view was super nice, right in b/w the throgs neck and whitestone bridges. pics really nice b/c the whole place is lit in twinkly lights at night. CH was okay, the room seemed really big for the amount of guests and there was no music playing at all, ch food was decent. RECEPTION - reception room was a perfect size, but the dance floor was small in comparison to the size of the room. food was pretty good.

at Westbury Manor. I had a fantastic time. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding and the grounds are very pretty. There was a second wedding taking place and you would have never known it. I only knew it bc the other wedding was an LIweddings bride. If pressed to give one negative remark would be that the cocktail hour was seperated into 2 rooms. Many guests didn't realize there was an entire other room filled with food. Overall a fantastic RH!

I also went to a wedding at Jericho Terrace. I have always loved the structure of this building and the rooms are beautiful, especially the dome room upstairs. The food was very good and the service was excellent too. This was the first time I have ever preferred the actual reception food to the CH food. I mean that in the most positive sense bc I am sooo big on CH's. You could cut your meat with your fork it was so tender. The only negative comment I could make was that there was a wedding on the other side of the dividing wall. When the best man was giving his toast the wedding on the other side was just announcing the bridal party and you could hear the entire thing which was really distruptive the the Best Man's toast. In a way I think the DJ might be to blame bc he really wasn't very good (not a DJ/vendor I've ever heard of) and he should have timed the speaches around the party next door with the Maitre D and Banquet Manager. Overall again a very, very good RH.

I should mention I had such a great time at the Westbury Manor wedding bc I am close friends with the bride and groom. I never even met the bride and groom at the JT wedding..so that was the only reason why I had a 'better time' at WM. They are both terrific RH's. WM and JT brides have nothing to fret over

Re: I have been to a wedding at in 06...........

I went to 2 so far and have 2 more coming up in the next few months (one at the Swan Club and one at Russo's on the Bay)

In May we had a wedding at Villa Barone Manor in the Bronx - CH food was decent, not great. The reception room was very nice and elegant. They have a huge elevator to bring up the bride and groom which everyone seemed to get a kick out of. Venetian Hour was very nice too - lots of choices. However, the cake was never given out after they cut it which I thought was VERY odd. They just jumped into the Venetian Hour and never gave the guests the cake!

2 weeks ago we had a wedding at Russo's on the Bay - amazing food & service. A+ all the way. I'd never been at a wedding at Russo's before and since mine will be held there in less than a year I made sure i looked at EVERYTHING and I have to say I was very impressed. The waiters were filling up drinks before they were even empty and the Venetian Hour was unbelievable - a dessert lover's heaven

at Lands End in February... the inside of the place was absolutely breath-taking, however we were not able to see the grounds outside because it was dark, but I heard the location is gorgous. The only problem was that the cocktail hour was an hour and a half long and there was not enough food. Not really sure what happened but the bride was not happy, but I think it was because the DJ was late setting up so they kept us in there, so it was not eally a reflection on the hall. The service and food were excellent

There DJ was pretty bad, not sure who they used, but the cds kept skipping and they messed up the bridal parties names.

Crest Hollow in April - I was a BM in this wedding and I hated the Bridal Assistant. Otherwise food was great, but I think Im partial!

Giorgio's last weekend - It was good - Place is beautiful. Venetian hour was really good! I didn't like the dinner but they had a lot of choices and I didn't pick the right choice. My fiance had the same thing and liked it.

Re: I have been to a wedding at in 06...........

I just attended a beautiful wedding at the Swan Club.

My favorite part of the food were the delicious dutchess potatoes and the desserts. There were cordials, chocolate covered strawberries (Which are my favorite), cakes, pies, Ice cream (also my favorite).

The hall had a very open, outdoorsy, summery/springy feeling to it. The cocktail hour was in a room totally open by windows (even the ceiling were windows, which was pretty. There were lobsters and clams and shrimp on ice and an open bar.

The reception was right next to the cocktail hour which I thought was nice and one side had open window feel.

The tables and chairs were very pretty and close enough to the dance floor. The bride and groom danced the night away and had a great time! They didn't seem to be worried about anything (and believe me, they have worked so hard and worried about this wedding for a long time - Love you, Tim and Kathleen! :)

The bathrooms were very nice, clean and elegant; nice car valet service; pretty grounds.

Hope that helps the Swan Club girls!
