I have the ugliest legs.... Please help!!!

Original post by lipglossjunky73

Now - before you think I'm going to go off on another body issue rant, heres the thing...

I am perpetually razor burned... ALWAYS... I am whiter than white, and no matter what I do, I am a razorry bumpy mess after I shave....

I read that rubbing a mixture of olive oil and epsom salt on your legs before you shave works - I have been doing this and its better - really, I am happy with the results, but still, it just means I have 273 bumps instead of 325...

And its been going on for so long, I have these scars from shaving... Why can't I just have nice smooth legs like all the other ladies out there???

I don't want to look at bumps and burns when slipping on my garter... I dont want to see icky bumps on my honeymoon or in pics when I wear shorts - its bad enough I am so pale....

I am not sure if waxing will do it either because I hear you can get wicked bumps and all sorts of stuff from that as well - I dont want to take the chance and wind up even worse.... I don't have the money to spend on it either

what should I do?

I have tried every shaving cream, every razor, every type of moisturizer, exfolianst, lotion, etc - I do use something called code blue brave soldier gel on my legs after shaving, and it works wonders...

Help!!!!

What about tanning also or spray tanning.....being darker hides everything!!

I've read that melting an aspirin in hot water and then rubbing it on your legs can help with aftershave. That's pretty cheap and easy too.

also, not to state the obvious, but you're shaving in hot water after your legs have been wet for a while, right? like, in the shower, towards the end of your shower?

most people know to do that, but just checking.

Yes - I do soak for a while.... thanks!!!!

tanning = skin cancer I have done it and am getting more and more fearful since my grandmother has had skin cancer a few times already

Fake tan = staining my beautiful white dress... would rather have the bumopy legs - not as expensive!

What about laser hair removal? It does cost more but for you it may be worth the expense.

I understand you're saying waxing might cause bumps but you really can't go by hear say you're going to have to try it yourself and THEN, if it doesn't work I would try nair or one of those hair removing creams....no razors required for that!

i have the same problem. nothing works.
i once tried to pluck all the hairs with a tweezer and even that didn't work.

also, if i shave in the morning, the hair is peeking out of the follicles by 6-7pm. is that crazy???

keep the suggestions coming, i need help too.

I use the venus razor with Pantene Hair Conditoner.. give it a try..

yes i love using conditioner to shave-- the only thing that does not irritate my skin. excpet FH's aveeno shave gel-- that works great.

def go to a dermotologist-- i'm sure they get similar complaints from patients all the time and maybe they can give you a RX for something that would really help you-- or at least they could suggest something from CVS-- try that def!! it's worth a shot.. and don't worry about being pale, it's a beautiful thing! i love being pale.. look at someone like nicole kidman, julianne moore or that chick from desperate housewives-- pale is not a bad thing!

I too have this issue. My legs are so sensitive! I always read in magazines to shave WITH the hair growth (down as opposed to up your leg), but this still leaves stuble. So, I what I do is shav down all over then up, and VERY lightly...not pressing the razor too hard.

Your'e doing good by soaking and changing the blade. I never use a razor more than one time.

I went fr leg waxing once. Once. I got worse bumps than with shaving! TendSkin (as others have mentioned) worked wel on bikini wax. And the depilatory (Nair, neet, etc) I got irritation from also!

So, I am goign to also suggest a dermatologits, though I never thoguth of it myself until now!

i use venus too & only change the razor once or twice a month, they really last pretty long. that may be the problem changing it too frequently...
i also use tend skin for the bikini area works great

As long as you don't got that day and extra color will be washed off in the shower....if you want to spend a few more bucks you can have it sprayed on by a person at a salon...HTH

I'd say try Tend Skin. Many people swear by it. I bought it today to try to use since I'm going to brave my first bikini wax soon.

What is it?

Tend Skin is a pre and post-shave solution that comes in a blue bottle - I've seen it in Sephore and some drug stores (the fancier ones). My bikini line gets very red and bumpy after shaving, waxing, you name it and this stuff is a miracle worker. It's not too pricey either, so it's worth a shot. Good luck!

For Christmas, I bought him Aveeno shaving cream....and he LOVES it....says that it helps his face so much!
maybe you can give that a try?
