I just can't

I just can't

Fh just called me and is all pissed off that he didn't get anything byt $250 for his taxes... He gets mad that i claim both kids.. but I told him I'm the one who pays everything that I should.. Plus why does it matter becaue I use the money for the wedding... Apparently his tax person was adding her 2 cents in and saying he should claim one of the kids and that we're crazy for getting married the way the economy is. So now hes all amped on that and believes we shouldn't get married that we should be doing other things with it...... ***????????

Can someone just punch me because this is just bull...

I totally hear where you are coming from... I rarely ever see my FH trying to save and all that. At the very begining he was all excited and paid off all his outstanding debts...but now he just blows through money like we're loaded. And he goes through moments of wanting to help. Like, he made up all the invites himself... so I was alone stuffing them... AUGH! lol.
Was your FH saying that all along...? Or is this a new thing...?

He's said it before maybe once or twice.. Saying we need a house.. But its like we aren't going to be able to get a house.. his credit is shot and mine is just starting to get better but its no where near where I can get a morgage.

I think I'm just so over all of this. I feel stuck and hes surely not going to help me.

Sorry to say but his accountant shouldn't put his/her two cents in without looking at the entire picture. It's not appropriate to make suggestions without knowing your tax position and just his.

I am a CPA...and what we would do is look at the situation for the both of you; and determine, within the law, what works best for the both of you.

That's just my opinion. He should be greatful he's not paying...lol.

Awww...I'm soooo sorry. Maybe you can look for a house to rent...? That way you still have a house... yet it's not killing the bank all at the same time.... I'm sorry you are going through all of this, and I hope that it all clears up...

FM me if you need to talk....

does the accountant even know him well enough to say something crazy like that, it seems out of line or maybe the accountant never said it at all and thats what hes just still thinking

Does he make alot less than you because maybe he wouldve gotten more tax credits claiming atleast 1 of the kids? anyway whats done is done but how does he expect to get a house and your already paying for everything? crazy.

UGh first of all I am in the same situation. Us claiming the kids is totally worth it because we get more money for them then they would....

So what kind of accountant is this? I would totally get a new one.

FH did our taxes yesterday and the accountant advised as usual that the smartest move financially is for me to claim both kids.

Sorry you are going through this IM nuts I would have called the accountant and told her to mind her own business how rude!

It was this crazy lady from H&R block... I should go there and ring her neck.... He believes anything anyone says.. So thats why he got all worked up yesterday.. Which obviously trickeled down to me.. Its better now.. But I'm still angry for him even making the damn comment yesterday..

Thanks girls

O wow! That's not so nice of her. Doesn't she realize she is just causing problems for you guys? THat's rude!

And shouldn't the person who would get more money back be the one who claims the kids? Every situation is different... but everyone across the board wants the same thing.. MORE MONEY BACK. That's the bottom line goal. And not to mention all the money is going towards the wedding anyway so what difference does it really make? If anything you are doing a good thing because your getting back more by you claiming them right? I'm no CPA and I don't know how do to taxes or anything like that.. but I at least know the goal is to get more money.

I've heard some bad things about HR Block. She shouldn't be doing that with her customers if she wants to keep them. WHen you get married... and you file jointly (if you are) now you surely won't go to her! See.. that's not any sort of way to keep your customers coming to you. There are a million tax people out there... I hope he goes to someone else next year (something tells me though.. if you have anything to do with it.. then he will be )

I'm sorry for the stress it's caused you.
