Re: I just finished crying!!!
I know that David's Bridal sells dresses off the rack, in fact they prefer to. If you find out about some sample sales or trunk shows they usually sell the dresses the day of. Also, some stores who have discontinued dresses will sell you the sample off the floor. If you really decide you need a new dress, you can totally do it in 3 months.

Re: I just finished crying!!!
If you are willing to pay I am sure a bridal salon will find a way to help you.
Look places that maybe you can buy off the rack and just have it cleaned and pressed.
You have to be in love with your dress that day.
I agonized over picking my dress because I kept getting opinions liking dresses that weren't 'the one'. I went with the one I wanted not what everyone else wanted and love it.
Good luck. I want you to be happy on your wedding day.

If you're that unhappy than you should definitely get a new dress. You should look in the mirror the day of your wedding and know and feel that you look stunning. Losing the $500 will suck, but it's not the end of the world. If anything, maybe they would let you apply that to other things in the store like shoes, flower girl basket, ring bearer pillow, guest book, purse? Maybe they would let you get a bridesmaid dress. Pick something that isn't too bridesmaidy and wear it to the next wedding you go to.

Sounds like an excellent idea...but...how long will it take for a wedding gown to be delivered..this one lady said, that she would have to call and have it rushed...delivery...!!!!! But, she did not say how long

Re: I just finished crying!!!
If you actually ordered a dress it would take a couple of months, unless they were able to rush it. If I were you, I wouldn't be looking into dresses you need to order because you don't want to panic if it comes in right before the big day.

Re: I just finished crying!!!
I JUST REALIZED..THAT WHEN I WENT TO TRY ON, IT FIT ME LIKE A SIZE 14. WHEN, I FIRST STARTED TRYING THE SAMPLE SIZE IT WAS A SIZE 12--WHICH FIT PERFECT.
I thought, when they bought the dress in, it would fit like a glove according to the size that I ordered a 12. That is why they try to schedule you in for alterations. I think the store made a huge mistake...................or a possible scam...to make more money......... I am going there this week, to ***** to them.......
THAT COULD BE A MAIN FACTOR IN ME NOT LIKING THE DRESS....IT WAS SO BIG ON ME!!! I HATE LOOKING AT OVERSIZED DRESS ON ME!!!

Re: I just finished crying!!!
I'm sorry you feel that way about your dress. You're right though - when something fits, it looks so much better. I hated trying on gowns because nothing fit and the salons kept telling me 'just wait until it's in your size - it will look so beautiful'. Hard to imagine I know. If you were happy with the sample, which fit, you will most likely be happy when your dress is altered to fit. I can't explain why they ordered it too big - there could be lots of reasons. The store sample is usually a little stretched out from everyone trying it on. Also, if it's a Maggie with a corset back, it can fit up to three or four sizes depending upon how wide apart the laces are. Or, maybe they just want to charge a lot for alterations and got you a larger size 'just to be safe', as they say. Maybe you lost weight! I think if you go back and try on the sample, which fit you, you'll see how your dress will look altered and you'll know if you still love it. You can make your decisions from there.

Re: I just finished crying!!!
I dont have much to add since I havent even started looking at dresses but I'm sorry you feel so bad...
it still seems like your not happy with it...first I would go there, call them , make an appoitment, thats what you PAY them for...
tell them your not happy with your choice and you want to try it on again, I would try it one more time now...ask them once its on...why is it so big? The sample was not this big on me...see what they say..
THEN try the sample ( if they still have it) on AGAIN and see what it will look like AFTER alterations...seeing it fitting properly might make you change your mind, if still you walk out of there depressed....go straight to David's Bridal's or similiar where the have off the rack dresses...bridal suite in Bayshore has rack dresses as well. A lot of places do....Then forget about the $500 you will lose, its your day and you need to be happy with your dress....good luck...please post what happens!

Re: I just finished crying!!!
I was not too thrilled when I picked my dress...It was what I wanted, I tried it on 4 times, tried to make myself love it on me, and I came out just not happy...and I was waiting for that 'THIS IS THE DRESS' feeling and never got it...Then....I found the dress....TOTALLY DIFFERENT ---but I still have my doubts all the time, is it too plain? is it too summery for a 10/1 wedding, but I loved it on me...It came in already and I don't want to see it....and I don't understand that one. So I feel better knowing I am not the only person feeling this stuff, but I feel for you since you are REALLY Upset ---hmmm...can you ask to transfer your deposit to another dress? Keep us posted! Good luck!

Re: I just finished crying!!!
I felt THE EXACT SAME WAY as you! I actually tried to change my dress like a month after I ordered it, but we already put a substantial deposit down on it, it's already been ordered and being made, and so I would be stuck paying for the dress anyways! But then I reminded myself of why I loved it so much when i first tried it on....and I realized that the sample wasn't fit to ME, my hair was't done, my makeup wasnt fixed, I didnt have on any accessories......not even a slip! So when I look at the pics of me in my sample dress....I look so BLAH. I dont look like a bride...but how could i when it's not MY DRESS on MY WEDDING day! I would try the dress on again......I mean, no one looks good in a ball gown with their hair in a makeshift bun and no makeup....no bouquet.... I think all brides are beautiful! Give your dress a chance! Maybe get a hair and makeup trial and then go try on the dress....bring nice jewelry...wear your good bra.... I think it's so close to your wedding day and may be more of a hassle to change it and rush to find a different dress at this point. What if youpick something in a hurry and then a WEEK before, regret your decision??? BEST OF LUCK and lots of

Yes, I guess I am not alone.............
Neissepie.........I will give my dress a chance..I am going to try on HOPEFULLY THIS WEDS.. or saturday.
I want them to re-order it in a smaller size.... WHen, I called RK bridal , they said...that usually the sample is a little big for people trying it on and on.. (but the sample fit like a glove)............ But they told me to order it in a size 12, but..my measurments were taken...and...This oversized UGLY dress is what I got. I never, never, never try on big dresses that are not my size.............It is such a turn off for me. But, I will def. give this dress a chance...sometime this week..
I will let you guys know thanks so much!!!!

Re: I just finished crying!!!
I went through the same thing. I had my first fitting and it fit me perfectly. But my dress is very simple and not poofy at all and I was freaking out that it didn't look 'bridal enough'.
I wouldn't be too worried. The dress will be so different when it fits you perfectly. You can always dress it up with jewelry and gloves.
I have no doubt that you will look beautiful!
