shot his little brother in the head. they were fighting over a toy and he remembered his mom had a gun in her purse. He got it and put it to his head and shot him. HOW HORRIBLE. The 2 year old is fighting for his life.

that's terrible. now 4 yr olds are fighting with guns. first, my does the mother have a gun in the person and that the kid knows about it.

Why would anyone keep a loaded gun in their home when they have small children and how does a 4 year old know where to find it. This is why I don't like guns. What a sad tradegy.

Thats is horrible- I agree , why does the mother keep the gunin her bag w/ those kids in the house?!?!?
If the 2 yr old pulls through those 2 kids will be scarred for life-
I hate guns!!!!
When we were small my mother wouldn't let us even play with toy guns or anything that remotely looked like one.

We always had a gun in the house.....but, my dad kept it in a secret hiding spot, away from us. Kids will be Kids.....

Does anyone else think there should be punishment for parents that have easily accessible guns in their homes? Isn't that endangering the welfare of a child in some way? It's a stretch, but hey, it's needed!

I so agree with the gun thing. that is what I said to Mike this morning why would she keep it in her bag. Plus why do the kids now about it. I will say that Texas is a different place then here. Mike grew up there and if someone comes on your property you have every right to shoot them. It had to have happened really early or late at night. The little boy was in P.j. and Sponge bob slippers. They showed his little hands covered up with paper bags so they could test for gun powder they didn't show his face though thank god!

sheesh my sister and brother in law are both cops and they do hide it so the kids cant get to them which is good! and they even unloaded they never ever keep it loaded in the house. this mother should be put in jail for endangerment of a childs welfare. i mean yes the little boy SHOT his brother over a toy but this would not have happened if she had the commonsense of unloading it when it was not in use, this Really disgusts me i cant believe the mother would do something like that leaving the gun loaded and let a four year old get to the gun!

I heard this on the news last night
Just so tragic, I truly have no words other than to question the parents having this gun in their house in the 1st place - somewhere where toddlers could access it!
