shot his little brother in the head. they were fighting over a toy and he remembered his mom had a gun in her purse. He got it and put it to his head and shot him. HOW HORRIBLE. The 2 year old is fighting for his life.

Jen that kid that killed his father with the sword did you hear the whole store with that? That father was a sick SOB and deserved it IMO his step son would come home and the father would hold a gun to his head EVERYDAY to 'keep him in check' Then he would show him pictures of the holocaust and the bodies going into where they would Hitler would burn them and then show him pictures of Hitler and make him salute him and Hitler. I think its to bad he didn't decapitate him.
actually i heard the opposite...i heard the father was verbally abusive but was trying to help the kid and was helping him get into a drug program

Yup verbally abusive defiently fits what I said. He might have been trying to help the kid into a drug program but any natzi still living and holding guns to peoples heads 'to keep them in check' and saluting hitler has no need to be here so why not get rid of him?

i really don't believe that...i think some kid killing an intruder with mommys gun would definately be news worthy
If you lived in Texas you might hear that since here that would be against the law.

well now that you said that...i find this case MUCH more interesting! Killing someone with a gun is just sooo much easier... So i can't wait to find out more about this case
ETA...and what i find interesting is that he had time to think about what he was going to do! His step dad was sleeping

true since he almost did! But that takes a more angry person...Shooting someone is an easier less emotional way of killing someone...

sorry the protection thing doesn't fly with me. I understand that it is a way of life in Texas...imo doesn't make it right
You are right not to keep guns in the house if they make you uncomfortable. I'd rather not have someone uncomfortable with a gun but I'd really rather not have idiots like this woman with guns.
PS: My coworker and her husband were awoken in the middle of the night to a man entering their window. They had their 3 month old baby in a crib inside their room. BOTH had guns in the side tables. Both got them and fired. Only one actually hit the *******.... oh, and he sued them for injuring him!
Actually Im positive there are tons of stories with gun/knife or plain old defensive measures are taken to protect themselves. Mostly however, these 'defensive' folks aren't out to KILL someone so they never make the news, why bother when you have 4 yr olds killing kids. That's just a media thing. Im sure most cop family folks in here will tell stories of 'incidents' they are called to.
