I just realized I really need to work on invitations

I just realized I really need to work on invitations

how many months before the wedding is everyone planning to send out inviteS?

My wedding is in February.. if I do it 2 months before that's Christmas time..

If I do it 3 months before that's Thanksgiving..

If I do it 4 months before.. that's like in less than 2 months!
But that seems ridiculously early.

I would do it between Christmas and turkey day, like 2 weeks before christmas.

See I didn't want to do it then because it will be lost in the shuffle with all the CHristmas Cards being sent out.

That's a good point - you might want to do it right before Thanksgiving then. Or the week right after Thanksgiving because most people don't have Christmas cards done by then.

I think you are supposed to send invites out 6-8 weeks before the wedding date with an RSVP date of about 3 weeks before the wedding to give yourself enough time to call people who haven't RSVP'd and get a final head count to all your vendors that need it. It also will give you plenty of time to get things like seating charts, escort cards, menus, and programs done (if you are doing them).

I would send OOT invites out a little earlier than that though so they can figure out their arrangements.

6-8 weeks will put me right at Christmas..

hence my issue.

I would send them out right before thanksgiving. I think it would be better to send them out a little earlier rather than in the chrismas card time. I know we definitely start getting christmas cards right after thanksgiving. To be safe....I would do it right before thanksgiving.

yeah right before thanksgiving is prob my safest time.. it seems so early though.

but once black friday hits, christmas insanity begins.. and a wedding invitation can certainly look like a christmas card.. it would totally be lost in the shuffle.. plus mail is slower around that time of the year.

Send them the first week of Novemeber. People don't even know what they are doing for new years or if they have plane tickets to see family for xmas.

I think if you get urs out like Dec. 1 you will be ok with the Xmas rush. I was worried about the same thing so this is my plan...

Wedding Date January 16
RSVP Date December 15
Invites going out Nov. 1

I wanted all my rsvps back (or most of um cause u know how pple are) before Xmas..
