I just told my boss!

Whew what a relief. He kind of looked at me a little blankly and I had to tell him that I was planning to come back to work.

I know I definitely caught him by surprise especially when I told him I am almost 4 months. I still feel sort of guilty does that sound silly?

I'm sure you feel so much better getting it out. Don't feel guilty. This is a wonderful time in your life and he will come around. Employers tend to think about how this type of stuff effects them more then the joy of it.

I am glad you feel better about telling. I don't think 4 months is too far in. Isn't that about the time everyone tells work?

LOL - I know what you mean. When I told my boss - she said 'Oh' and then asked me about a document I was preparing!

I think sometimes people do not know what to say!

I know what you mean! When I told my boss he just looked at me with this blank look on his face and then said 'wow'. I asked him if he was shocked because we where only married 3 months and he said no he expected it but didnt perk up till I told him I would continue to work after the baby was born. Sometimes I think men just don't know what to say!

Please do not feel guilty. I think waiting until now is fine. I am due 2 days after you and I just told my boss yesterday. His wife just had a baby 12 days ago so I was hoping the timing was right. Caring for an infant was fresh in his head- so I was right. I was actually expecting the reaction you got.

Thank you! Now that its the afternoon I don't feel so bad and I'm over my feelings. What's weird is he did not tell my supervisor (who I already confided in) but told another VP. The VP came up to me and congratulated me and told me that my boss is just thinking about himself but that he is happy for me. Not sure where that came from but I guess this 2nd VP was more supportive and told me my job will be here when I get back. (I have only been here 10 months).
