OMG, what are you going to do? if his parents are contributing their names should be on as hosting. if not, maybe after your FH's name it shld say son of x and y

i'm having invitation wording anxiety too. trying to keep the peace. some are paying, some arent, FH's parents are divorced..ahhhhh

So tonight I was showing my mom the invite samples and I told her that Fh wants his parents name on them. She then says in a snappy voice then I will give his father back the $2,000 that they gave us and we can have only our names on it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel awful now!!!!!!!!!

his parents aren't even contributing and I showed FSIL and she said 'oh good thing you put my parent's names on it too..my mom would hav ehad something to say about that..'..like what?? My parents are paying for the hall?? what are yours doing?? NOTHING! not even an engagement gift and it has been a year and a half!..sorry for the vent lol can I throw myself into the on coming traffic with you?? lol..I dunno I'm jsut doing both ti keep the peace but they shouldn't even be on it!!! If FH's family is contributing I would say they should in your case...or you can just do your names and 'together with their families'..but I felt bad to do that since our parents are helping..I don't know what the right thing to do is..

ahhhh that sucks... Luckily my mom is kick A*S*S.. shes just awesome.. my dad was never in my life but he is invited to the wedding (no his name is not on the invitation besides his last- and even that mine will change so FH obv. and my mom is changing hers to barrett after i get married)

None the less. I didn't know how to bring up to my mom who is paying for our reception and ceremony which is close to 25000 atleast... with the bare minimum of guest.. where fh mom and dad are giving 5k. While money isnt eventhing i feel like my mom is throwing the wedding.

His parents originally said they would give us the 5k to have the wedding on the saturday.. we said no it wasnt worth us spending anyones even our owns on a saturday wedding considering there are sooo many oot guest that will be taking 2 days away. (thats just how my fam is)

then when we said the RD was for only the people in the ceremony the said.. use the 5k on the RD... basically they try to throw there money on the things they want to control!! SO ANNOYING! So we told them it went to DJ and part of photo.... yet we havent got the money yet and we paid for it....


I asked my mom how it should be worded and she got quiet. So i got NERVOUS!!!! She said there is no need to get people upset over names on an invite. she said.. on that day no one is going to remember and it isnt going to matter so it is better to put theirs on then to start a war over it.

Wholly Cr*p!!! I want to have parents like yours! Mine are just entering retirement so they aren't going to be able to help. My mom is buying my dress which is enough! And FH's mom is buying our honeymoon, sweet!!!! But FH's father is soooooo cheap, he prolly won't give us a dime!!! But thats my own vent!

Our invites will be from us, no parents hosting! We are paying the magority!

We're doing our names and then 'daughter of' and 'son of,' although we are paying everything ourselves.
There's other drama brewing during this 'wonderful' wedding planning process.

It's amazing how so much nonsense is involved before the wedding. Seriously, just the other day I had suggested to FH we elope and get married in Vegas!!

My parents gave us 10k, his zip so far. They said they will help contribute, but nothing in stone yet.
I'm guessing we will put both sets of parents on the invites just to appease everyone.

I freaking love ym parents they are freaking awesome. My parents and the money from his parents is going to the RH we have to pay for the other stuff Dj,photo/video,flowers and Limos. My mom is buying my dress for me and my FMIL wants to buy my tiara thingy and my shoes cause I got my veil for free.

she is your mother you can tell her not to be crazy and its rude to do that. but you can make it more like you parents are inviting and still have his parents names on it. I would say if your parents are paying the whole thing and his parents 2000 , then they are hosting this. and it should be your parents request the honor of there presences and then after it says FH's name you can say son of .

perfect solution. I've seen many invites presented in this format, and I think it's nice honoring both sets of parents that way.
