I agree.

My FH is Jewish and very passionate about the middle east conflict. We would never do that.
Plus we both worked for a pro-Israeli think-tank.

well, that is a tough one
going to israel can be dangerous and yes, there are bombings and men with oozies when you get off the plane; but it is a sense of pride and an undescribable feeling when you get off the plan like 'this is where i belong'
it is very hard to explain to people

its not like being Swedish and saying i MUST go to Sweden because that is a nationality; not a religion and Swedish people do not feel hatred in America; whether blatant or hidden

its like; everyone understands each other i gues
you dont hear people saying 'school is closed - i dont know some stupid Jewish holiday' everyone knows why school is closed - it is like an unspoken understanding
especially if you dont have a very jewish sounding last name and people say things in front of you because they 'dont know'

believe me; that has happened more times than i can count

Yeah you did, and I adopted it, & use it so much FH now uses it too: . Ex: I want to go to Iseral ,the program that I'm converting with, invited me to go with Birth right and FH doesn't want to go b/c of the obvi. danger.... I have used that term that he now uses it. In a conversation w/ FMIL when we were talking about going to Isreal FH said,' Yeah well she'[s converting so she has to pray louder'
