I know this is ridiculous but please help...(slightly long)
Original post by mandag
I need help, and I can't ask any of my loved ones anymore because they might start to throw things at me. I'm designing my invitations and having them letterpressed and it has taken over my life and my brain. My favorite designs are below.
Here's the questions, first of all, which one do you like better? In both cases the typeface will be Navy Blue and the ornament/decorative element will be printed in silver.
Secondly, my gown is ivory, and my table linens are ivory, if I choose a white paper (not bright white, but white all the same) for my menus, which will be tucket into pocketfold napkins, will the white paper look bad??? Does it have to be ivory to work? If I changed to white linens would it clash with my dress? I just can't decide and I've literally become immobilized by this ridiculous decision. I've seriously been pondering this for like three days now, please help me stop myself.

Wow, am I the only one really digging the feather? That border design, which I adore and would wrap myself up in every day if I could, has been popping up a lot recently on a lot of homewares and you might just be sick of it by the day.
The feather's layout seems to be a bit more bold to me and just pop...
good luck (and I can totally relate as DH and I spent what felt like full eons picking out plain creme paper!)

Both invitation designs are elegant. I voted for the corner design, but here's a thought: the corner design is stronger, more traditional. The feather is more ethereal and modern. Which suits your vision better?
I don't think anyone will notice the difference between white paper and ivory linens.

We've all been there. You are not alone!

Don't stress yourself out over something your guests probalby wouldn't even notice... think about it... if you're having the reception in the evening, the room will be dimmed so you won't even notice the difference in your dress, the linens, and the menus.
well said...and i LOOOVE the corner design!!!(black on ivory )

I like the feather design b/c it isnt tooo much.
As far as the white paper, they will look fine against your dress. My table linens were ivory and my dress was white and everything looks fine. you wont be standing in your room holding a menu in front of you so there is no reason to make yourself crazy

I actually like both ALOT...the only reason I chose the corner deisgn over the feather design was because the writing on the feather seemed slightly off center which bothered me, I liked that the corner design was right in the center.

After all of that I decided to go with a different design entirely! Thank you so much for all of your input and help though. The new one will be letterpressed with blush as the background color and navy blue as the typeface on ivory paper.
It won't let me post the new invite. Sigh. Sorry!

I think it depends on your wedding theme. If it'll be feathers, then the feather design. My theme is feathers, so I'd do that.

Love the corner design and as for the white paper with the ivory it looks FANTASTIC. I had the same issue at my hall. I went there last week with a piece of white card stock and tucked it in the ivory napkin and it looks so elegant. I was shocked because like you, i was very worried!!!! It doesn't look weird at all, like i said it looks beauiful!

I'm torn...the single corner one looks more fun and modern, but the two-corner one looks more classy and elegant...how do you want your wedding to be perceived?
