I might need a 6 ft. privacy fence. Neighbor vent!
Okay, is this normal neighbor behavior?
So we have had our house for a while before officially moving in a month ago. The first time one of our neighbors stopped to talk to me, he says, out of the blue, that he's an accountant and that he'd do our taxes for a discount. Um...where'd that come from? He then handed me a stack of business cards and instructed me to 'pass them out to your friends and family.'
err...thanks? I thought that was pretty tasteless. I just met you, thanks. I'm not going to advertise your services (which I'm entirely unfamiliar with) for free. Hire someone.
Yup, those went right in the garbage. He also made sure to tell FH the SAME thing when he cornered him alone.
Anyway, yesterday FH is in the yard and the neighbor starts talking to him about our house and asks 'How much you paid for it?' Then guesses the figure. It was close and he says that he asked the previous owner. WHY IS IT YOUR BUSINESS???
He also says that he's been in our house (when it was on the market) and that it needs alot of work, etc. Uhh, we're aware of that.
Then he asks FH if he's married or if I'm his gf. FH says that I'm his fiance and that we're getting married next year. There were eyebrows raised.
probably doesn't like sinners living next door
Then FH is out in the yard later spraying weed killer and the neighbor comes out and instructs him to 'get some over here' (by his driveway).
W.T.F! GOOO AWAYYY!!
I'm so annoyed. Sorry for the long vent.
side note* My dogs bark at them and they are not barkers! They knew all along that he was annoying.

get that fence asap. hey...maybe he's related to my murderer neighbor.. lol. ok not funny.
Ive had probs w both of my neighbors and its not fun. I sued one twice.
hopefully once your neighbor realizes that you're not interested in being friend;y with him, he'll leave you alone.

Thats crazy...its like you cant go outside for fear of the nosy neighbor. He's like the neighbor on Home Improvement hahaha but instead of being wise, hes just obnoxious hahaha. Eventually you are probably going to have to find a polite way to say thanks but no thanks to everything!!!

while you wait for the fence, make it clear that you are not open to having conversations with them.
when they start a cono with either of you, politely say, 'hey sorry, but i'm pretty busy right now' or 'hey, i'm sorry, i'm running late for ___' i'll talk to you some other time' and that will get you out of the convo. do this enough and they will get the point. it works. i've done this a million times

yeah we still haven't finished mine completely.
i sued him bc he cut down a tree on MY property...and bc he threw wood on my new fencing (coincidentally) and broke it. I won both times. he hates me..and yet..fears me. :)

yikes can you put up an eight foot fence? Preferably the pvc ones where he wouldn't be able to see you. what a weirdo

Does he have a family? Maybe he's just lonely? Ugh, either way get the fence and don't ever go into his house or let him into yours.

Ugh, get that fence whatever way you have to!
I have a 6 foot BLOCK WALL and still had to spend $250 on fricken ficcus trees to block over it because my neighbors put a trampoline thisclose to the wall and the kids jumping on it look into my yard, into my house and SIT on the wall when they are playing. My dog was going nuts!

Start talking about random crap. Make it fun. Start telling them about a swinger's group you just joined and how the parties will be held at your place. Or that one time at the sacrifice ritual where you ran into your old cheer leading coach and were like wow u like ***** too. Random things that will make him think your crazy. He'll leave u alone and put up his own 6ft fence and save you an expense

Get the fence because this guy is out of line. It may have been alright for him to ask the price of your house if you were friends, but he is a stranger to you and now I'm sure he is going to stay a stranger. Also tell him to buy his own weed killer. Annoying person.
