I miss Long Island...

any other brides move off LI and feel the same way? I read other post as to favorite resturant, clubs, etc and get a little teary I moved upstate to Rochester NY to be with my FH. It was a mutal decision, saving $ by living here, blah blah blah. But it's been 8 months and I still feel like this is not home. Plus we were robbed on Thursday (while we were at work. Not too much stolen, DVD, jewelery, etc) so, maybe I'm a little homesick today. Anyway, had to vent, next time you see then ocean, give it a smile for me...

a robbery is such a horrible feeling...but rest assured...it happens on LI too!!

although I don't actually live on LI...I work there and go to visit my parents, so I know when we move out of NY in 8 months I'll be sad...

but the internet and aim and email have made the whole wolrd seem a bit closer...

I know what you mean Cynthia - when FI and I moved to NC about 5 years ago, we were so excited to get the hell away from this crowded expensive place. But - after about a year and a half - we were back. We found we really missed it a lot.

oh this must be tough cynthia. FH moved to NJ tonight for a new job, he'll be coming home on the weekends. its so tough being apart since we've lived together for so long. i will also be moving before the wedding to be with FH ( but not for another 7 months!). i will miss LI too, but i miss FH more.

I've been away for 3 years and still get homesick. FH knows that if Billy Joel is on the stereo, he needs to me on the next train to NY

Thank you all for your thoughts...yeah, it's been hard. I think the break in just set me off...so took a 'mental health day' from work, online doing some wedding stuff, and hopefully making some appointments to see dj's and photographer's. Coming down to Long Island for Thanksgiving - WOO HOO - I can't wait! And since I won't be down for Christmas, my girlfriends, their BF's and my FI and I are going to go to the Thanksgiving Day parade!! lived on LI my whole life, and never been! thanks girls, again!
