Hello - does anyone know where I can buy a dress plus do alterations in time for May 26, 2008? it can be off the rack (but excellent condition) or new. my budget is under $1000 for the dress. i am open to many styles. is this unrealistic? thanks!

What are you looking for? Many of us girls are two dress brides. Give a little info, one of us may have the one. Also say what size you are as well.

I ordered mine, it'll be in next month... It was more than double your budget, we called our wedding off... FM me if your interested, I have pics in an album, & it's a size 12, wedding dresses run really small

I think Anne Taylor also has dresses you can order online. Lotus Bridal in Brooklyn has a sample rack, and a couple of designers that come in quickly. Also, I agree with the girls about looking on Ebay -- try on dresses in person so you know what you want, and then look for specific dresses on ebay.

I think you have plenty of time to find one for may. Just start looking now. Try the bridal shops, jcrew, and sample sales.

I bought a white gown in a dept store (Macys) and, with the veil and jewelry, it looks just like a bridal gown.
