Ah! These are our last holidays as single women!

My mom told me to go into the attic and get all my Christmas Ornaments and anything else I want to take with me...Let me tell you, I was SO EMOTIONAL!!

I was crying the whole time.

I have never been away from home in 27 years. Vacations yes, but I stayed home for college, and I've been in the same house for 27 years. I was just like 'Am I going to be able to handle this?'

Anyone else feel the same way? :( I need a hug

You will get through it. Remember, home is not disappearing. When you walk out the door to your new home, the old will still be there. Just focus on your new life. It's a really exciting time. Picture yourself hanging these items on your and FH's tree next year, how much fun that will be for the 2 of you. You'll get through it!

i was like that when i moved out. i cried as i drive away for the last time. its weird going back too bc its not my house anymore

Im with you!! Don't get me wrong, Im beyond estatic to marry FH and move in together but Im gonna miss my fam so much!!! I know I can visit whenever but Im leaving the house I have been in my entire life. We were putting up the tree last night and all I kept thinking was how this was going to be my last christmas waking up in my house and opening presents with mom dad and my sister... I really wanted to cry. Not to mention me and my Mom.. omg we have the most amazing bond and relationship ever and Im gonna miss seeing her all over the house and hugging her whenever I want

me me! i lived at home for most of my life except for the 4 years i lived in college and my parents did everything for me - cook, clean - everything! i told FH he better be ready to take care of me

but yea i totally understand where you're coming from. i'm totally afraid of the whole rent concept

i just moved out--- not only did i live home but i actually shared a room with my grandma-- for the first week i cried and FH felt so bad he asked if i wanted to move back home-- i still get emotional every once in a while cause i feel like i abandoned my grandma-- but FH is awesome and has really helped!!!! Keep your head up!!!!!! You'll get through this-- and we're always here for you!

I've lived away from home for almost 5 years now. Yikes! It was rough in the beginning, I lived on my own in an apartment about 10 min from my parents. It was weird to go back home and look around and be like, I don't live here anymore. I felt really sad sometimes when I would come visit. It was like there was all this stuff going on without me, and then when my room was redone.....that was pretty hard. My mom put in a carpet, painted the walls a different blue, put in a new light fixture, and changed the closet door, and stained the doors different colors, and got different curtains. It barely looks like the same room. It gets better with time, but yeah, it's very strange at first. Sometimes I still look around my old room and notice how it used to be my room.
