I Need a place to get a good, long, professional facial.
I was thinking of going to 'Bliss' in the city, but it seems with parking or taking the train there just to spend 70 minutes getting a facial is too much trouble. I am looking for a place in LI that will do as good a job as a place in the city. My skin is not so great, and I figure I have 8 months to get it in shape for the wedding. I also do not want to spend $100 a pop. Can anyone recommend a place that knows what they are doing, uses quality products and takes their time? Am I asking too much?

I don't know anything in Long Island - but I highly suggest Bliss if you DO go into the city - might be a nice treat for yourself. In the meantime,...start taking Vitamin E. capsules to help along your complexion - it really helped me!

Hey Tara! Where's our CHAT ROOM!! Let's arrange one soon - I have tons to talk about. Yes - I go to Bliss frequently. It's a nice spa but if you're looking for a great massage place, I suggest Carapan as well!

Jenny...
Which facial do you get? Is it really worth the money? I live in Bklyn, so its really not that's its far, but in LI its easier to park. If I do go, what and who do you suggest? Like I said previously, my skin is not so good. I really want it to be nice for the wedding. P.S. Maybe we could chat tonight, last time was fun, I can't wait to hear everyones news!

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is an antioxidant, which reduces the amount of free radicals in your body. Free Radicals are the major contributer to cell death, so this is why taking it may keep you skin healthier. It is also a very good skin conditioner and anti-inflammitory when applied topically.

tara- I am personally not fond of facials. I like all the massaging part and the cleaning, but I dont like the extractions - I always end up breaking out a few days later! I have had a bunch of them though - they have a great menu to choose from. you should go to there site. blissspa.com. I can't chat tonight....but let me know when is another good time and i am in!

Vitamin E
Just a note - taking vitamin e regularly can make you prone to bruising.

Rain Day Spa
My sister took me there for my last bday. Everything was great (facial, massage, lunch, manicure/pedicure) but it was my 1st time in a spa, so I have nothing to compare it to. The facial part made me break out in hives right away, but the next couple of days, people said I was glowing. Remember to drink lots of water, take off makeup before bed, relax (yoga/meditation/prayer/breathe), don't smoke/drink too much/get too much sun, eat your fruits/veggies, and excercise for great skin!!!! Sorry to sound like I do, but just a reminder.....

I had a facial at bliss last month
Hi, I had a facial at Bliss last month and it was really great. The atmosphere is very nice. They suckered me into getting a mask that was an additional $25 and then I bought some products. But I think a lot of spas pressure you upgrade and buy stuff. The facial was was $90, plus the mask and tip = $140!! I too an trying to get my skin in shape for the wedding, and I made an appointment at Mario Badescu. They were written up in NY Mag as a best buy on a facial. $65 for 75 minutes and it includes a hand treatment. I will let you know how it goes. Good LuckWelcome New Vendors
