I need advice....

I need advice....

okay, I'm freaking BIG time and maybe I'm being over dramatic BUT....I have to mail my invitations out in a month or so the only problem is I don't know if it's worth the money to have the names and addresses on the envelopes done with calligraphy. The only other alternative (because I don't want to use labels) would be to print the names and addresses myself on to the envelopes from the computer.

I'm afraid it will look tacky...please help

What do you girls think and what are you doing?

TIA

I am printing them out on the computer. To me, they only get ripped open anyway, and I know my family and friends won't call me cheap or tacky.

I have to tell you that I was having the same 'issue'. I looked into inkspun, and to tell you the truth, I thought that i could do the same, or just about. i have a really nice printer, and my outer envelopes arent too thick. well i did it myself after going back and forth and I am soooo happy i did.... they came out so pretty if i do say so myself

I printed them out myself using a mail merge. They looked great...no need to waste the money on having them professionally done. They took me a few hours with one of my friend's help.

Okay, I just called them (Inkspun) and the guy said they supply the envelopes and charge 39 cents an envelope (SO CHEAP )....he said all I need to do is email him the text I want along with the names and addresses for each guest and they will take 5 days to complete, thats it!

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!...OMG....What would I do without you girls, you make wedding planning SO much easier and less stressful, thank you all so much

Re: I need advice....

My mom printed ours out on the computer, the only thing people really look at is the invitation and if they want to fork over the money for calligraphy, than they can make a comment, but it's your wedding, you do what you want. You can choose any font on the computer remember and also if you make a mistake you can correct it rather than putting it in someone else's hands. But I am way controlling about my wedding stuff and little issuses like that would keep me awake at night!!!

Re: I need advice....

I used my computer/printer. A few friends asked who did my calligraphy and were surprised at my answer.
Try to use the same font as the return address and print in large font to use up most of the envelope. It looks really nice.

Re: I need advice....

We have a friend of the family that has a computer pioloted pen/ink and that was how we had ours 'calligraphied' using the same font as our invite. This way we got the best of both worlds because it looks like real ink - which is really is, but everything was uniform and matched our invite font. The did this as a present to us. So I unfortunately do not have contact info. Sorry - but it might be worth while to look into.
Good luck
