So im thinking that i have no clue how im going to pay for this wedding and fh and i are both stressing about this (well hes stressing me out about it!) So i decided i need a second job...any ideas for a night (but not too late night) or weekend job? Im a teacher and although im off in the summer, im taking graduate classes during the day.
Where can i work and make the most amount of money? (anything but bartenders) and i have no experience being a waitress..so where do u think i can work with no experience anywhere? lol

So i applied to bloomingdales today! Im hoping to hear something soon..thanks for everyones advice..i thought about all the options and i think i much rather work at a department store then be a waitress (im so uncoordinated lol) so hopefully theyll call for an interview soon and i get a job..i need extra money soo bad!!

Retail is a good 2nd job and for the summer. I used to work at Nordstrom and I worked on commission so it was a really good job, lol

Did you think about tutoring, you can make at least 50 and hour because you are a certfied teacher.
I was thinking of looking into tutoring Wilson over the summer.

Yeah, the more clothes I sold the more money I made, this is at NOrdstrom. Alot of dept stores are like that

you might be able to put an add in the penny saver for cheap
you can get the word out asking family or friends if they know anyone.
maybe put up a flyer in the local store.
I'm not sure how I would get kids either... i have to figure that out myself. but its def something to tryout!

CATERING...I worked in catering when I was in college...no experience needed...I made $10 an hour back then plus tips...AND you get to work weddings!!!!! How freaking awesome would that be while planning a wedding? You need to buy a tuxedo usually...but any catering hall will hire you...take you pick.

I think working at a store like Bloomies, or Nordstrom is such a great job, Yea your on your feet, but if you get into the cosmetics department you can make soooo much money and its so much fun!!!!!
I am not sure where you live, but if your in nassau definately apply at bloomies and nordstrom in roosevelt field, if your in suffolk, try saks, lord and taylor and bloomies,
The schedules are so flexible, and the commisions are amazing!

Im a waitress and it def pays the bills!!! Especially in the summer, places are in DIRE need for help, even without experience, they will train you for 2 weeks then your on the floor making the big bucks. Try seafood resturaunts. If they doesnt fly, I did lifeguarding and thats an awesome job!!! its a quick certification if you can swim lol. Oh and catering is good money but so stressful, I did that for a while, but I have to tell ya...its ALOT of work, and painful hours. 10 hour days. Becuase you have to be there early to set up, and stay late to clear the tables. Your constantly busy, its an insane job. Retail is good only if you make commision!! So check out what the other girls said, bloomies and nords!

bookstore? FH was thinking about picking up hours there... lowkey, low stress and they are flexible - plus - you can read all the wedding magazines you want!!!

How about babysitting. Big responsibility but good pay. When I was in college (7 years ago), I used to babysat this kid who live Park Avenue (manhattan) and they paid me $20 an hour. If ever I lose my job I will go back and babysit.

I actually just got a second job myself, my first job I'm an assistant admin. at a police department on NJIT campus, and I got my second job at Best buy, I get commission off of high priced electronics, as well as an hourly wage, soo its a very nice perk =)

Clinique Cosmetics pays really well at retail stores and you get commission on items you sell and you get tons of free products because they want you to use their stuff while selling. i worked full time at macys herald square 4 years ago and never made less than $500 per week with commission.... Godd luck! I'd go retail, done the waiting tables things for years, and it can be so draining and make you mentally miserable....

i self employeed myself for a second job
i found a wholesale company that does dropshipping and ive been selling on ebay..i was complaining about money a few weeks ago..but this made me 1200 in one week..i only sell big stuff through the company..like tvs and stuff like that..xboxs
and since they drop ship..you dont need inventory at all..you list the item..its sells..you place the order with the company and they send it out
