Anyone know of an area with a row of tall grass, tall sunflowers, or tall cornstalks (cornfield)? I want this as a backdrop for our save the date pics...
In queens or Nassau?

ok this may be a weird suggestion, but what about near the water on the cross island pkwy. they have that tall grass and reeds.
for cornstalks I only know suffolk in the fall.

Yeah, I have no clue when corn stalks grow or even sunflowers it may be too early.
I have only seen the tall grass on the side of highways...I don't know how taking pics would work lol.
Is there enough space you think over there?

I know that in suffolk they have a corn field maze for people around Halloween! That would make for some amazing pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When are you planning on doing them?
There is a gigantic flower field out in Stony Brook. We were just there over the weekend and they haven't planted them yet, but last summer the flowers were as tall as us. I think they usually bloom in late summer.
If you go to Avalon in Stony Brook, take the trail to the preserve, cross the street, it's down a little ways.

Thanks for these suggestions, ladies! I will look into them.
I am looking to take them end of May, early June so I can get my save the dates done. I'm fast approaching my year mark. Can't believe it.
If I can't find a place, I'll just have to make do with a park with lots of trees.. but I really wanted that tall grass look!

I would say out east - i was just out in Montauk so we drove through a little bit of wine country and you can find some areas out there that has the tall grass.. even some of the farms out there may have some sunflowers for you

hmmm what about jamaica bay preserve or even tackapausha in nassau?
