I need help choosing a LI reception site...anyone have advice??

My fiance and I are interested in planning our wedding on Long Island (not too far out, Nassau preferrably) in December of 2005. All of the websites look beautiful but I don't want to waste a lot of time going to see places that aren't what we are looking for.

-We would like to get married around Christmas. Are there any halls that decorate particularly beautifully for the holidays?
-We are looking in the range of about $60 to $75 per person for around 200 people. (Fri and Sun are ok)
-Food MUST be delicious!

Can anyone help??

Hi! Congrats on your and welcome to the boards!

Have you looked into the Milleridge Cottage? That's where I'm getting married this December. They decorate beautifully for the holidays and there's a whole decorated village too!

The one hall that stands out is the Milleridge Inn in Jericho (Nassau). I have been to many Christmas parties there and they decorations are SO FESTIVE!! I looked at the Cottage this past week. I am not sure what the Dec. rateS are but the May -Sept rates wer approx $85 (I think for Sun). Definately check it out! Also the food is great!! Good luck!!!

The Milleridge Inn (Cottage House)decorates beautifully at Christmas time. I went to a wedding there just after Christmas and it was gorgeous.

Another vote for the Coral House. My friend got married there last December and it looked amazing all decorated...and it made for some beautiful pictures as well.

I also agree with the other ladies, Milleridge is also very beautiful around the holidays.

Good Luck!

Check out Woodbury Country Club. The grounds are gorgeous and I believe they decorate around Christmas time. They fit into your budget and although I haven't tried the food yet, I have never heard a single complaint about it. Good luck!

Westbury Manor and Fox Hollow look sooooooo pretty around Christmas. I think they might be around your price range for a Friday or Sunday. Best of luck!

My top two were the Westbury Manor and Fox Hollow. But Westbury Manors best quality was the gardens, they are absolutly beautiful but if you are having a winter wedding i would opt for the fox hollow their Garden room it to dye for. but you would have to have a fri nite or sun wedding. Sat nite/day is 100-150

I agree with Milleridge Cottage. I went to check it out, but my minimum was too low. It was really beautiful.
