I need help ... help me make my 1/2 bath beautiful! (pics)

We just moved in 6 weeks ago and this bathroom is driving me nuts because it is SOOOO plain. I need ideas: color, textures, etc. What should I do? It is SO dull! Right now, the walls are like a grayish/taupe color and the floor is beige/grayish. The floor is ceramic, so we won't be changing that.

I was thinking of painting it a light lavendar, but is that too boring? I really want to liven it up!! Thanks for looking.

I love it!!! I like it simple to be honest.. unless you want to get more artwork for it ?

I like simple too, but it's just a little *too* bland. It's all one color. Any color ideas, or accent colors I could bring in (with artwork maybe)?

My bathroom will look the same when we move in, so I got this soap pump

I bougth some other american flag things, a basket that is read white and blue and a wooden thing that can hold a few bathroom items for the wall and blue and red towels.

I would go to like Kohl's, TJ maxx or marshall's and check out their artwork, and find a piece that you like.. I would do like a southwestern type of thing.. dunno if you'd like that.. I think it would be great. you can get beige or orangy colored towels..

I LOVE the tiles too BTW.. I hope my kitchen floor comes out just as good.

you can bring in just about any color! black, red, dark green or light green accessories or towels
and I love your new avatur! she is soo cute!

I agree with Marcella...go to Michaels (they usually have sales on framed art) find a piece...and then pull a color from that...

I agree artwork is a great idea also maybe shelves on the far wall. I love the mirror can you paint? maybe a cute vine design or something like that! LOVE THE BATHROOM BY THE WAY !

I like you bathroom the way it is too. I would change the mirror to something funky,odd-shaped and then come up with a color theme for things like towels, accessories, dried flowers, artwork, maybe even toilet cover. that's what I am planning to do with mine because I am afraid that I will get tired of a bright color soon and I can always change accessories. JMO. Good luck

I think it is a beautiful bathroom also. I think paint is a simple, inexpensive, non-permanent way to change it. I think by adding a few colorful accessories like art, a rug, towels & a shelf it would look great. I like deep purple better than lavendar, but that it a personal choice.

A rug, wastebasket, soap pump, towels and a piece of artwork will help bring in some color. I love the walls the way they are! I like simple.

ETA: You could put rose & purple. Would look nice with the tan.

I'd definitely go the accessory route with giving it color if you didn't want to/have to paint. Any color would look great in there too. Hand a shelf with the accent color and definitely go the color route with a framed pic.

Thanks everyone, for your ideas.
So, I guess I am on a hunt for a piece of artwork that will *inspire* me...I will let you know what I find! Maybe I won't paint after all. I'm not sure now.

Well, I have some other questions about decorating my bedroom... I'll post pics of THAT tomorrow! Hee hee. Ta ta for now.

I think a lavendar bathroom would be nice!! We moved into a home about 1 year ago and our 1/2 bath is lavendar. Its such a pretty color and I would not have picked it if it wasent already on the walls.

I would coordinate it with whatever space its off. In other words if its off a hallway I would continue whatever your color sceme/style is in the hallwall.

Honestly, I would do very little to change it. I think its beautiful in all white. Honestly. (and I hate white!)

To add a bit of punch, I would put some large beautiful art on the wall above the toilet. Either a really artsy black and white photo or something very vivid. And if you can add a really luxiourious light fixture.

Since you mentioned lavendar, and that tends to be one of my TOP colors/color families, Id go with accessories, towels, rug, and maybe some artwork in plum, lavendar shades.

You dont have to change the paint. It really is classy looking. And months down the road, when youre tired of looking at the lavendar, there are SOO many other colors you can play around with.
The benefits of staying with a neutral color!

ETA: You can even do some stenciling to add a little 'life' to the walls
