Under $50 - b/c I got them a few other small gifts - noteably wedding albums.
Grandma is adorable...love her to death, was thinking of getting her a hat/scarf/glove set - is that too 'expected' though?
MIL/FIL - have no hobbies at all...they just smoke and go to work....GC's are out of the question...need something 'generic' for them...

har/scarf/gloves is kinda expected. But useful and Grannies freaking love stuff like that. They are always cold.

christine...macy's in kings plaza engraves them. i got plenty of stuff there and they do great work. its to the left of the china department

while it's a great idea for most - I always get these type of gifts for friends...The IL's seriously don't appreciate stuff like that, and would lose it!!!! They lose everything!

Gma...get her a cozy sweater...the same idea as hat and gloves...but a touch less expected....
or an ice throw blankcet...I got one for grandma last year and she loved it. she keeps it on her couch even in the summer.

Does anyone like tea? My in-laws are notoriously hard to please and we got them teacups with infusers, and (7) 4oz mini mason jars with loose tea from Adagio.com.
They have some crazy flavors. We got his mom chocolate, mango, forest berries. His dad got earl gray and some other assorted black teas I can't remember.
They even giftwrap.

what if you just got them something like a big cookie tray or a chocolate basket. something edible always is appreciated. fruit of the month club - something like that.
get grandma the hat gloves etc. - i have a thousand pairs of gloves and love them all (and lose them all too) i also like slippers....

I bought a few people gift packages from Omaha steaks...do they like meat? they seem like they do. (meaning old school I eat brain and tripe kinda people)

we got my grandma a nice note cards set and a pretty pen. she likes to write notes to all her grand and great grand children.

In-laws... Qvc.com has tons of food shipping gifts...ie omaha steaks, juniors cheascakes, crabcakes, deep-fried turkeys etc....you can order them and present them with a creative picture wrapped...
Grandma.... When my grandmother was alive, there was nothing that made her more happy then spending time with her grandchildren. Why not take her out to dinner? Or to brunch??? Present it to her that you are taking her out for the day.
