I just got my new ring on saturday/..the diamond fell out today..My receipt says no returns..so what do I do,,they offered to reset it for me..but tahst no good..Im too afriad it will happen again..I am FREAKING out..almost crashed my car..I found teh diamon thankgod...but Im losing mymind..can anyone tell me what I should do? Shjould I DEMAN my money back..I had my last ring for a yera and ahlf and the diamond never fell out..I cant spell because Im in a hurry..I need to calm donw before I go over there and YELL liek a mad woman!! HEKP

OMG Alicia!!! I would go there & have them reset it. Then I would go to another jewler or an appriaser & test the diamond for you. If there is any further problems I would ask the original jewler to eat the cost.
This happened to my ring (it was one of the side stones) & I blew a fuse... I almost drove my truck into the front od the store I was so P.O'd, and the jewler gave me a new ring & reset my diamond free of charge. I then went to thy guy who is making our bands & had him test the diamond to make sure the setting was ok.

omg im sorry u are having no luck with rings I would see if I could get my money back although if it was my e-ring which i love I would not my money back I think I would want thm to fix it! Do u love the ring? Will u never feel comfortable abou wearing it again? Calm down thank god u found the stone.

I feel like Im going to puke..Im going there now..they say bad things come in 3's...this is my third thing. It only has foru prongs..a friend said it should have 6...

Deep Breaths - Go there and discuss it with them - I am sure they would agree that this should not happen the next day.
If they willnot refund you IMO I would keep the ring and have it reset at a trusted jewlers. I dont know where you live - but you can FM me if you'd like the name of mine in Manhattan.

I do need to calm down..I almost crashed when I saw it missing...I cant handle another acciudent..Im haveing BAD luck...I need to go to the jewreler while Im all fired up..I do love the ring..but Im going to be afriad to wear it!

I would talk to the manager and demand them to fix the problem and ask to have 2 prongs added.

Unless it is a princess/brilliant, it should have 6 prongs... try to get your $$$ back & Take the diamond to another jewler & get a new setting.

I calleth called them when I lost it, teh distrcit manager wont be in until tomorrow...Ill get it reset now and then talk with him tomorrow.....AHHHHHHH

Ok, alicia, a brilliant cut only gets 4 prongs, on wrapped around each corner. Then you look at the top it should look like 4 V's around the edge/apron of the diamond. The prongs should actually wrap around the sides & then a bit over the top/crown of the diamond.
If you say this to the jewler he may think you know a bit more than an average customer & might be more willing to give $$ back or fix it... Technically, he should be able to reset it right in front of you.

Alicia.... dont' fprget to get a receipt for the repair... even if they write on it that they did it for free, you will need that proof that it had to be fixed!!!

You poor thing!!! Not for nothing.. but you don't necessarily have to go back to THEM to reset... if you really feel uncomfortable, you can take your ring elsewhere, but you'd have to pay.

PS: didn't they sell you a warranty??? usually covers lost diamond or lose holdings. Its their workmanship that caused the diamond to fall out to begin with!

Oh my gosh - I'm so sorry that you're going through this!
I think the suggestion to get a receipt - whether it was free or not - is a great one. You want records of this - esp if (and I hope not!) it happens again.
I think your friend is wrong - I can't imagine a princess cut stone in a 6 prong.

I would totally be flipping too! Does FH know yet? Maybe you can have them reset it and g*d forbid it falls out again, tell them you will demand your $ back. That's just poor worksmanship. I feel for you!! Most jewelers want to keep you happy, especially if you're gonna go into their store and complain about shoddy work in front of other customers...
