I need some advice

I need some advice

Basically to make a long story as short as possible....

I was working as a receptionist in an vet's office and I loved it! I was also going to school two nights a week. I finished with my associates degree in August and I had to quit that job b/c I started my Bachelors degree at John Jay in Manhatten and I had to take classes four nights a week and all day Friday. It didn't fit w/ my work schedule and I was losing too many hours. I started a new job in August doing a nanny position part time. I just took it b/c I needed something. I've been looking for a few months now for either a second job or one full time job. FINALLY I found a 2nd job. It was perfectly easy and three days a week but it required me getting up at 4:45 in the morning. I went on two interviews for the job (another nanny position) and I spent a few hours last Sunday with the child to get used to one another. I also worked hard to rearrange one of my days and hours with my other boss. I was SUPPOSED to start work on Tuesday (yesterday) and I had to be up at 4:30, so I set 'our' (FH and I's) alarm. Monday night before we went to bed we had an arguement about our three dogs and I went to bed myself. He came up a few hours later and I specifically said to him 'I set the alarm for 4:45, DON'T shut it off and not wake me up' I figured I'd warn him since it was an earlier time then he has to get up and since a few weeks ago he shut off my alarm when I had classes. So my body woke up on it's own at 5:51. I totally FREAKED out b/c I was supposed to be at the new job at 5:30. I jumped out, yelled at him and ran out of the house in PJS and didn't grab my cell. I go to work by 6:05 just in time to see my new boss leaving with his son and taking him home to ex wifes house b/c he had to leave for work. He didn't even give me a chance to explain what happened he just got in his car and left. I basically was horrified. I go into my car and drove home crying the whole way. I got back into bed and just laid there staring at the ceiling wanting to literally choke FH. He cost me this job. A job I worked hard to get and needed the extra 500 $$$ a month for wedding stuff and I just bought a new car! He knew I was mad at him so he just got up for work and left. I havn't spoken to him at all. Last night I stayed home from class b/c I was just too pissed and upset to head into NYC in the rain. He never said one word to me and I didn't say anything to him. He sees how mad I am at him and I'm not gonna be the one to give in this time. He didn't even apologize or ask if I was ok....nothing at all!!! I can't help being so mad at him and I don't know what to do! Anyone have any advice? (I'm sorry so long)

P.S Anyone know of any places hiring? Either a nanny position, a receptionist position in a Dr.'s office, Vet's office or law office. I have experience in those areas and I'm getting my BA in Legal Studies to go to law school.....THANKS

FH does this to me constantly! For the future, I suggest getting another alarm clock and keep it on your side of the bed so he can't reach it (or just use the alarm on your cell phone and keep it right next to your head!)

He should apologize to you...

He owes you a HUGE apology.

So sorry this happened.

I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I hear of any openings!

WOW that $UCK$!!! I am so sorry that happened!! My FH does the same thing, but not to that extreme. Last night for example I set the alarm for me to go home for 12...and woke up at 1:17 myself. When I looked at the clock it was set for 2!!! I asked him about this and he said 'You are a grownup and you should stay at my house as long as you wanted, not as long as your parents want.' I WANTED TO GO HOME AT 12!!! MY PARENTS DON'T CARE!!! He thought I was only staying until 12 because of my parents!!! So I went home with a huge headache because I was SO PISSED!!! So yeah, I hear ya!

That's terrible, I'm so sorry that happened! He should definitely apologize to you and try to make you feel better, especially since his mistake cost you your job! I guess he feels very embarrassed about it and maybe he doesn't know how to make things better, so he's trying to wait for you to get over it on your own. I know it's not right but guys especially do that a lot. FH used to shut the alarm all the time and not wake me up (I've done it to him a few times too), so now we have to use separate alarms. I think you should talk to him and tell him how upset you are and disappointed you are about what happened (without blaming him for it).. that might get him talking and apologizing.. good luck

I want to know how many jobs your FH has that you're killing yourself here...

I am so sorry this happened. Your FH sounds like he can be just as much as a jerk in an argument as mine. He's gonna be stubborn about the original fight you were having about the dogs, thus not apologize about the alarm - even though that's probably a MUCH bigger issue. I don't know if he will ever truly 'get' how much this hurt you, unless it affects him. So you're gonna have to try to think of a way to make this affect him. Sorry, no Play Station 3? That would do it for my guy...

As for the alarm, definitely double up on them. Use the cell phone as the third back up. Don't rely on him, and tell him you now know you can't rely on him and he cost you a job. That's so not cool.
