I need some inspiration....

I need some inspiration....

Or maybe some motivation or something. I've done nothing else but book my RH since we got engaged in February. Don't get me wrong I've been looking around, visiting places, calling, emailing...but I've yet to book anything and I'm getting really nervous as the months tick away. I think I'm just being too picky or something and I just need to choose my vender already. I seem to find something wrong with every place I see. I've only looked at 2 photogs but they were the only ones really in my budget that were also of high quality. Any suggestions on how to get the ball rolling!!! It doesn't help that I work full time and I'm taking 9 credits towards my masters too!!

Have you gotten the church or are you marrying at the hall? Maybe you should move onto the dress instead, so you can start to get excited again. Or, the florist, as you picture the reception and what it should look like . . . . that might spark more.

Also, easy ones to choose:

Limousines
Hotel Blocks
Rehearsal Dinner
Favors
Invite styles

Especially limos, are easy. And that will make you have to plan the day, which moves on to photog, hair and makeup, etc.

Good luck, the inspiration will come!!!

I went through this too and the only thing that motivated me at that point was to get moving so that preferred vendors weren't booked on my date. I also had to tell myself that everything was going to turn out great, no matter who I chose, because this is what the vendors do for a living. I say do some dress shopping, or look for invitations - get that excitement back and the rest will follow! GL!

Re: I need some inspiration....

Thanks. I appreciate all the advice. I think I just need things to settle down more so I have to time to do everything. I feel like because I live in NYC it's really hard to get things done. Not having a car puts a damper on things especially when we book appointments out on Long Island with vendors. It's like a whole day affair just to travel there and back. Sometimes I just want to go off looking at places like AC Moore or something to get ideas for my DIY projects and I don't know of anyplace’s in the city. I guess I’m just missing the suburbs and how easy it was to get up and drive to get things done. You don't realize what a luxury it is until it’s gone. Man I sound really whiney I do apologize but FH can't take much more of it. Thanks for listening!!
