Please don't change careers!!! Kids need teachers who are pationate about thier jobs. I know its SO competitive and so frustrating, but something will come around soon. Just keep your head up!

Hi Kathleen

I am so sorry you are discouraged. You are a teacher - right? I was just wondering, do you have something against working in the city? Because they desperately need teachers. I taught in the Bronx and loved it! In a few days I start a new teaching job in Queens though.

Good luck!

When did you graduate? And where did you go?
I am just wondering how long you've been trying. I've heard it takes sometimes 4-5 years to get a good job. That is why I am probably moving (and well, home prices).
Don't give up on your dreams.

Graduated in 2004...MS in Education...I have a BA in Communication (this was a change of career) worked as a TA for 3 years...subbed and worked in NYC for a year and a half in Brooklyn...did not go back due to commute...I am getting my Cert in Literacy this Fall
Went to LIU...what a waste!

I wish I knew of something for you! My school hired a bunch of el ed teachers last year and this year they hired 2 but dual language only.

don't give up things will eventually work out. I teach art, so it is VERY difficult to find a full-time art position, so I know the feeling. But don't give up!
