I need to vent

I need to vent

I was at my aunts house last night and my cousin (bm) asked me when we were ordering the dresses. She is kinda tight on money, but wanted to start setting the money aside little by little. I told her the date (about a month from now) and even through all the hardship she's been going through, reassured me she would have the money on time. My other cousin (MOH) starts complaining that she definitely wont have the money in time. This upset me because she just spent $400 on a new (and unneccessary) cell phone, and just recently bought a bunch of useless junk for the bachelorette party. Now she's telling me she cant fork over $75 for the dress. I said nothing to her, but after sleeping on it, it's really bothering me today. What do I do now?

i wouldnt do anything about it

she obviously has her priorities out of order so make her scramble for it when the time comes and simply point out how her excessive spending for other things is not reason to complain to you

People's attitudes towards spending money have nothing to do with how much they make. It's more of an emotional response to their priorities in life and how generous they are in spirit.

How often do you see this cousin? If you know you will see her again soon (before you order) see if her attitude has changed. If she is still complaining, yet spending on herself, I'd politely pull her aside.
Thank her for the bachelorette party stuff. Then mention you heard her commenting about the cost of the dress and you were wondering what her comment is really about.

Probably has nothing to do with the cost of the dress. Could she be jealous? Maybe she's a bit self-indulgent?
