So I'm having my renewal in mexico and I found this photographer whose work I love and I wanted to book her. Well I found out from someone that had booked her a year in advance, that she just decided to cancel on her because she supposedly wanted to extend her vacation in Europe. This is the first time I hear any negative about this particular photographer. I don't know what to do, this makes me very uncomfortable. What would you do?

I would talk to her first to see what her explanation is and ensure you have an iron-clad agreement.
Give her a chance to reassure you and if you still have doubts then find someone new.

I have to agree... the last thing you need , after all your planning, is to have your PHOTOGRAPHER (one of THE MOST IMPORTANT vendors) cancel on you last minute
For peace of mind, I would look into other options. You still have time, and better to find this out NOW rather than a few months bf your renewal

I'm with the others- she clearly does not take clients seriously and you are already planning from far away- that's enough of a challenge! I am sure you will find someone else whose work you will love and will be reliable.

I would do some further investigation on the comment, who reliable is this person who gave this comment that she just canceled at will?

I think it depends on how comfortable you still feel with her. If you really like her work, and this is who you really want, I would honestly flat out talk to her about it. If you still feel uneasy about it, don't book her.

She is someone from another board. She said that the photographer's assistant contacted her. I just don't know what to think becuase she has a very good reputation in that area and I have never heard anything bad before this.
