I need your brains for centerpiece ideas...

So, while I do not have a centerpiece sample yet, I am completely doubting my choice, and was hoping you ladies could help me expand on it, or help me develop it further...

Things to know:

-Vineyard Wedding, semi-Vineyard theme - but I don't want to be really in your face about it.

- I have 3 different sized tables at my reception - some seat 12, some seat 7, some seat 5. The reception is cocktail style with no assigned seats, so people are doing alot of mingling, changing tables, etc... No need for fancy, expensive centerpieces. I want to keep it simple.

- Current CP: Sheer-ish Champagne colored runner over a white tablecloth. Large Wine glasses in the center of the table with floating gardenias and peonies in them. Lots of votive candles scattered around the glasses.

It seems a little sparse, but I don't quite know how to expand on it. I like the wine glass idea, but i feel like it will look cheap or something. Should I add another element?

I'm sorry I don't have pics...

Any input appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: I need your brains for centerpiece ideas...

I think your centerpiece sounds great! Maybe you can scatter some fresh fruit (lemons, limes, grapes) around the centerpieces as well.

Re: I need your brains for centerpiece ideas...

I think the floating flowers in the wine glasses sound great. At my shower this weekend, which had a Tuscany and wine theme, my MOH did something I thought was really creative. She found chianti bottles on E-bay and placed sunflowers in them and then decorated the tables with candles and grapes. Maybe you can do something along these lines.

You ladies rock. I'm already inspired.

Nautical Bride - what a lovely shower you had! The chianti bottle looks awesome - may be interesting to explore. Are the grapes real or fake?

Take out cook - the fruit idea is great, i think that gives it the more 'earthy' element I am going for.

Re: I need your brains for centerpiece ideas...

What about if you added a antique looking planter with ivy flowing out of it, in the center of the glasses?

Re: I need your brains for centerpiece ideas...

How about adding a topiary in the center? I always loved this look.. This one is rosemary, which has a long history with weddings.. (Rosemary for remembrance).

Sorta vineyard-y and simple/elegant...

The flower filled wine glasses and votives sound lovely. But I agree I thinks there need to be something more. Maybe a small low CP in the center?

Ryanna- I love it! Simple, elegant and perfect. I don't think you need to change a thing. Just remember that gardinas can be very fragrant- I don't know if they will overpower the food.

The grapes on the table were real. The ones hanging up were fake. Someone mentioned a platter or hurricane with grapes or ivy spilling over it - that could be a nice touch.
