I notice everyone has a 'headband' type of headpiece. Anyone getting something larger?

Because my dress is very plain, I am getting a larger rhinestone headpiece about 1 1/2' high. I just sent FH to pick it up from Kleinfeld on his way to a client (I ordered it when I was still working there), only now I am beginning to worry because everyone else seems to be getting these little petite ones. Don't get me worng, mine is not huge, but its not small like a headband either. I guess when FH gets home with it I will post a pic.

I really like a headpiece that is a little higher than the headband style, esp if your dress is plain. I am also not used to having my hair up, so I think a higher headpiece will add to the front view (am very paranoid about having all my hair off my face). I say go for it, it will look great!

I've already got my headpiece and mine is a tiara but not too queeny looking like. It is definelty 1 1/2 inches though! You won't regret it cuz the sparkle is so amazing!

Same here...I have one that is a bit higher. I'll try to take some pictures so I can post them. I think you should go with what you like...everyone is different and has different styles. I'm sure yours will look wonderful.

I just used this photo in another post. The bride shown is my FI's cousin who just got married - I'm borrowing her tiara. I thought it was so breath taking -- I couldn't stop complimenting her on it.
Personally I love the larger pieces - I think they're very dramatic & wearing it will definitely make my bridal look stand out since it's not 'every day casual' - to say the least
As long as you don't wear a huge headpiece with huge earrings and a huge necklace and a huge braclet with a very ornate gown - I think larger pieces look great. Plus the most important thing is how it looks on you.
