I dont have any pics of the back of my dress but the train is only a sweep one, not that long at all. Wont people watch where the bride is walking and not step on my dress? I want to wear my dress the way it is made, you know what I mean? I am just cranky today... dont mind me.

Re: I really dont want a bustle
You could always have the seamstress put one in, just in case and then only use it if you find people are stepping on your hem.

I have seen the back of your dress and I agree that you don't need one. The sash is too pretty to cover in the back anyway.

I'm not a bustle girl myself. You could probably get away with keeping your train as is, but people might keep stepping on it if the dance floor is crowded.

Re: I really dont want a bustle
I had a bustle on my dress (I didn't have a huge train but I had a train nonetheless) and a tiny little piece was left on the floor - looked great but I can tell you - three time people stepped on my dress and stepped big time. Once was even my DH! lol I had a hole in the dress by the end of the night (my material was very delicate). So I recommend if you have anything hanging - get some kind of bustle or something - people don't mean to step on your but they do.
And everytime it happened - the buttons popped off the bustle and I had to spend time in the bridal suite getting it repaired. I may have only been there for 10 minutes getting it fixed - but it felt like an eternity and I was missing my reception.
Niecey- thats a scary story... you are making me really think now.
I found a pic of the back of my dress, it really not too long but I guess you are right, I will be mad if someone steps on it. Last thing I want to do is turn around and scream 'watch where you are going!'
Click on the thing that says 'larger image' and there are more pics.

That's longer than I thought it would be. I think you will have to bustle. I like the suggestion of having it tuck under your dress. That material looks really delicate - you will be so upset if anything happens to it. Gorgeous dress, btw!

Isn't there also a bustle you can put under the dress and just make it look fuller?

I didn't think about the material. It does look delicate. It's up to you my darling!

Re: I really dont want a bustle
I had my dressed bustled, and thought I would be fine for the evening. People would be careful around the bride, right?? WRONG--I swear--about 10 people stepped on the back of my dress, and each time, a part of the bustle would break. THe amount of saftey pins holding up my dress was unbelievable. Thank God for the bridal attendant who knew what she was doing--
Just be careful with your dress no matter what you decide!

DH still teases me about the look from hell I gave him when he stepped on the back of my dress - lol....
Let's se if this picture can post - it is from my trial of my bustle - as you can see it was only a bit on the ground - on the day it was even shorter than this too!!!
My dress had much less of a train that yours, and I still got a bustle - just a very simple one with a single loop/button around knee level. Besides having others step on your wedding dress, I found that I kept almost stepping on it myself! I'd definitely agree that the bustle is a good idea.
